Lipschitz continuity of an approximate solution mapping for parametric set-valued vector equilibrium problems

The purpose of this paper is to generalize and improve some topological properties of solutions set to the set-valued vector equilibrium problems by using the scalar characterization method. Moreover, the Lipschitz continuity of an approximate solution mapping for the parametric set-valued vector equilibrium problems is studied.     

Nonlinear Chebyshev approximation to set-valued functions

In this paper, we give a characterization of best Chebyshev approximation to set-valued functions from a family of continuous functions with the weak betweeness property. As a consequence, we obtain a characterization of Kolmogorov type for best simultaneous approximation to an infinity set of functions. We introduce the concept of a set-sun and give a characterization of it. In addition, we prove a property of Amir–Ziegler type for a family of real functions and we get a characterization of best simultaneous approximation to two functions     

A spline smoothing homotopy method for nonconvex nonlinear programming

Homotopy methods are globally convergent under weak conditions and robust; however, the efficiency of a homotopy method is closely related with the construction of the homotopy map and the path tracing algorithm. Different homotopies may behave very different in performance even though they are all theoretically convergent. In this paper, a spline smoothing homotopy method for nonconvex nonlinear programming is developed using cubic spline to smooth the max function of the constraints of nonlinear programming. Some properties of spline smoothing function are discussed and the global convergence of spline smoothing homotopy under the weak normal cone condition is proven. The spline smoothing technique uses a smooth constraint instead of m constraints and acts also as an active set technique. So the spline smoothing homotopy method is more efficient than previous homotopy methods like combined homotopy interior point method, aggregate constraint homotopy method and other probability one homotopy methods. Numerical tests with the comparisons to some other methods show that the new method is very efficient for nonlinear programming with large number of complicated constraints.     

Error estimation of a kind of rational spline

This paper deals with the approximation properties of a kind of rational spline with linear denominator when the function being interpolated is C³$C^3$ in an interpolating interval. Error estimate expressions of interpolating functions are derived, convergence is established, the optimal error coefficient, _ci$c_i$, is proved to be symmetric about the parameters of the rational interpolation and it is bounded. Finally, the precise jump measurements of the second derivatives of the interpolating function at the knots are given.     

Freeknot splines approximation of Sobolev-type classes of <Emphasis Type="Italic">s</Emphasis>-monotone functions

Let I be a finite interval, s ∈ ℕ₀, and r,ν,n ∈ ℕ. Given a set M, of functions defined on I, denote by M the subset of all functions y ∈ M such that the s-difference is nonnegative on I, ∀τ > 0. Further, denote by the Sobolev class of functions x on I with the seminorm . Also denote by Σ _ν,n , the manifold of all piecewise polynomials of order ν and with n – 1 knots in I. If ν ≥ max {r,s}, 1 ≤ p,q ≤ ∞, and (r,p,q) ≠ (1,1,∞), then we give exact orders of the best unconstrained approximation and of the best s-monotonicity preserving approximation . Part of this work was done while the first author visited Tel Aviv University in May 2003 and in March 2004.

多孔介质中基质和微生物耦合输运问题的三次样条分析

本文用三次样条和全隐式逐次迭代方法,对描述多孔介质中基质-微生物耦合输运微分方程组进行数值计算,结果表明:数值求解这种具一定对流优势的非线性扩散方程,该计算方案是可行的,且获得了良好的结果。通过数值分析,对微生物在多孔介质中的传输行为有了个大概的了解,还探明了各参数对耦合系统的影响作用。     

Anisotropic plastic stress fields at a rapidly propagating crack-tip

All the stress components at a rapidly propagating crack-tip in an elastic perfectly-plastic material are the functions of only. Making use of this condition and the equations of steady-state motion, stress-strain relations and Hill anisotropic yield condition, we obtain the general solutions in both the cases of anti-plane and in-plane strain. Applying these two general solutions to propagating Mode III and Mode I cracks, respectively, the anisotropic plastic stress fields at the rapidly propagating tips of Mode III and Mode I cracks are derived.
