Thin film CdS/CdTe solar cells have been prepared by conventional vacuum deposition technique. Deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS), temperature and frequency dependent capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements were utilised to investigate the performance limiting defect states in the CdTe layer subjected to the post deposition treatments such as CdCl2-dipping and/or annealing in air. Five hole traps, all of which have been previously reported in the literature, were identified in as-grown CdTe at 0.19, 0.20, 0.22, 0.30 and 0.40 eV above the valence band. A single hole trap level has been evidenced at 0.45 eV after both post deposition heat and CdCl2 treatments. 相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) measurements were carried out to investigate the interband transition and the activation energy in CdTe/ZnTe double quantum dots (QDs). While the excitonic peaks corresponding to the interband transition from the ground electronic subband to the ground heavy-hole (E1-HH1) in the CdTe/ZnTe double QDs shifted to higher energy with decreasing ZnTe spacer thickness from 30 to 10 nm due to transformation from CdTe QDs to CdxZn1−xTe QDs, the peaks of the (E1-HH1) transitions shifted to lower energy with decreasing spacer thickness from 10 to 3 nm due to the tunneling effects of the electrons between CdTe double QDs. The decrease in the activation energy with decreasing ZnTe spacer thickness might originate from an increase in the number of defects in the ZnTe spacer. The present results can help improve the understanding of the interband transition and the activation energy in CdTe/ZnTe double QDs. 相似文献

The influence of chromium and sodium on the nickel oxidation kinetics has been studied as a function of temperature (1373-1673 K) and oxygen activity (10−105 Pa O2), using microthermogravimetric techniques. It has been shown that the oxidation of Ni-Cr and Ni-Na alloys, like that of pure nickel, follows strictly the parabolic rate law being thus diffusion controlled. In agreement with the defect model of Ni1−yO, it has been found that the oxidation rate of the Ni-Cr alloy is higher than that of pure nickel, the reaction rate is pressure independent and the activation energy of this process is lower. This implies that the concentration of double ionized cation vacancies in a Ni1−yO-Cr2O3 solid solution is fixed on a constant level by trivalent chromium ions, substitutionally incorporated into the cation sublattice of this oxide. In the case of the Ni-Na alloy, on the other hand, the oxidation rate is lower than that of pure nickel, the activation energy is higher and the oxidation rate increases more rapidly with oxygen pressure. These results can again be explained in terms of the doping effect, by assuming that univalent sodium ions dissolve substitutionally in the cation sublattice of nickel oxide. 相似文献

A method for fabricating well-dispersed nanowire suspension has been demonstrated in the paper. Thin gold nanowires were prepared by template synthesis, and then functionalized with sulphonate group-terminated thiols before suspended in different solvents. The degree of aggregation of the obtained suspension was evaluated with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-vis spectroscopy. It was found that the degree of aggregation was predominated by the solvents, and the best degree of dispersion was obtained when isopropyl alcohol (IPA) was used as the solvent. The gold nanowires from the suspension can be selectively assembled onto chemically patterned substrates. This well-dispersed nanowire suspension is potentially useful for fabricating novel nanodevices. 相似文献

Dielectric measurements have been carried out for the determination of real and imaginary parts of the permittivity of a newly synthesized, unusually shaped liquid crystal. The sample has been investigated in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 10 MHz within a temperature range 80-130 °C. The dielectric measurements in the smectic A phase indicate a Cole-Cole type of dispersion, and the activation energy was found to be 5.5 meV by using the Arrhenius plot of relaxation time. In addition to this, thermal and optical transmittance studies have also been conducted in the above mentioned temperature range, and the temperature dependence of these parameters has been discussed in detail. The phase transition temperature obtained from a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) study matches within 2 °C that was obtained from an optical transmittance study. The dielectric and optical behavior of the unusually shaped liquid crystal has been explained on the basis of a proposed theoretical model in which a sample possesses two different conformers having induced polarizations in opposite directions. 相似文献

Preparation of transparent and conducting indium doped CdO thin films by spray pyrolysis on glass substrate is reported for various concentration of indium (2-8 wt%) in the spray solution. The electrical, optical and structural properties of indium doped CdO films were investigated using different techniques such as Hall measurement, optical transmission, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. X-ray analysis shows that the undoped CdO films are preferentially orientated along (2 0 0) crystallographic direction. Increase of indium doping concentration increases the films packing density and reorient the crystallites along (1 1 1) plane. A minimum resistivity of 4.843×10−4 Ω cm and carrier concentration of 3.73×1020 cm−3 with high transmittance in the range 300-1100 nm were achieved for 6 wt% indium doping. The band gap value increases with doping concentration and reaches a maximum of 2.72 eV for 6 wt% indium doping from 2.36 eV of that of undoped film. The minimum resistivity achieved in the present study is found to be the lowest among the reported values for In-doped CdO films prepared by spray pyrolysis method. 相似文献

Samarium-fullerene intercalation compounds of nominal composition SmxC60 (x=1,2,…,6) have been synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. We obtain a Sm2.75C60 superconducting phase with orthogonal structure and a Sm6C60 phase with body-centered cubic structure. The broadening and weakening of Raman peaks of the SmxC60 compounds are due to the distortion of C60 and electron-phonon interaction. The Raman measurements reveal that the distortion of C60 decrease in SmxC60 (x=3,4,5) exposed to air, although the fulleride solids have transformed into an amorphous state. The Raman results also show that the distortion of C60 is still very large in the Sm6C60 exposed to air, or the C60 molecules have been destroyed and become some amorphous carbide. 相似文献
