Using the Lyapunov direct method, we establish a condition of exponential dichotomy for the class of dynamical systems under weaker assumptions as compared to the case of an arbitrary continuous matrix on the derivative of the Lyapunov function along the trajectories. By way of application, we obtain a sufficient condition for the dichotomy of a second order almost periodic vector equation in terms of coefficients.  相似文献

This paper studies the global convergence properties of a class of neutral-type neural networks with discrete time delays. This class of neutral systems includes Cohen–Grossberg neural networks, Hopfield neural networks and cellular neural networks. Based on the Lyapunov stability theorems, some delay independent sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point for this class of neutral-type systems are derived. It is shown that the results presented in this paper for neutral-type delayed neural networks are the generalization of a recently reported stability result. A numerical example is also given to demonstrate the applicability of our proposed stability criteria.  相似文献

Without assuming that the neuron activations are bounded, some delay-independent criteria for interval delayed neural networks with discontinuous neuron activations are derived to guarantee global robust stability by using the generalized Lyapunov method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique. The obtained results improve and extend those given in earlier literature, and two numerical examples are also given to show the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

Fractional calculus is an extension of derivatives and integrals to non-integer orders, and a partial differential equation involving the fractional calculus operators is called the fractional PDE. They have many applications in science and engineering. However not only the analytical solution existed for a limited number of cases, but also the numerical methods are very complicated and difficult. In this paper, we newly establish the simulation method based on the operational matrices of the orthogonal functions. We formulate the operational matrix of integration in a unified framework. By using the operational matrix of integration, we propose a new numerical method for linear fractional partial differential equation solving. In the method, we (1) use the Haar wavelet; (2) establish a Lyapunov-type matrix equation; and (3) obtain the algebraic equations suitable for computer programming. Two examples are given to demonstrate the simplicity, clarity and powerfulness of the new method.  相似文献

We show how to use Lyapunov functions to obtain functional inequalities which are stronger than Poincaré inequality (for instance logarithmic Sobolev or F-Sobolev). The case of Poincaré and weak Poincaré inequalities was studied in [D. Bakry, P. Cattiaux, A. Guillin, Rate of convergence for ergodic continuous Markov processes: Lyapunov versus Poincaré, J. Funct. Anal. 254 (3) (2008) 727-759. Available on Mathematics arXiv:math.PR/0703355, 2007]. The determination of the basin of attraction of a periodic orbit can be achieved using a Lyapunov function. A Lyapunov function can be constructed by approximation of a first-order linear PDE for the orbital derivative via meshless collocation. However, if the periodic orbit is only accessible numerically, a different method has to be used near the periodic orbit. Borg's criterion provides a method to obtain information about the basin of attraction by measuring whether adjacent solutions approach each other with respect to a Riemannian metric. Using a numerical approximation of the periodic orbit and its first variation equation, a suitable Riemannian metric is constructed.  相似文献
