We calculate the contribution of pions to the $\bar qq$-expectation value κ(ρ) =<M|ˉq
q|M> in symmetric nuclear matter. We employ exact pion propagator renormalized by nucleon-hole and isobar-hole excitations. Conventional
straightforward calculation leads to the “pion condensation” at unrealistically small values of densities, causing even earlier
restoration of chiral symmetry. This requires a self-consistent approach, consisting in using the models, which include direct
dependence of in-medium mass values on κ(ρ), e.g. the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio–model. We show, that in the self-consistent approach
the ρ-dependence of the condensate is described by a smooth curve. The “pion condensate” point is removed to much higher values
of density. The chiral restoration does not take place at least while ρ < 2.8ρ0 with ρ0 being the saturation value. Validity of our approach is limited by possible accumulation of heavier baryons (delta isobars)
in the ground state of nuclear matter. For the value of effective nucleon mass at the saturation density we found m
*(ρ0) = 0.6m, consistent with nowadays results of other authors.

The present work reports a discrete, stress-dependent dynamic compliance spectra method which may be used to predict the mechanical response of nonlinear viscoelastic polymers during strain-defined processes. The method is based on the observation that the real and complex parts of the discrete dynamic compliance frequency components obtained from creep measurements are smooth, easily fit functions of stress. Comparisons between experimental measurements and model calculations show that the model exhibits excellent quantitative agreement with the basis creep measurements at all experimental stress levels. The model exhibits good quantitative agreement with stress relaxation measurements at moderate levels of applied strain. However, the model underestimates the experimental stress relaxation at an applied strain of 3.26%. The stress relaxation error appears to be a real material effect resulting from the different strain character of creep and stress relaxation tests. The model provides a good quantitative agreement with experimental constant strain rate measurements up to approximately 4% strain, after which the model underestimates the experimental flow stress. This effect is explained by the time dependence of the stress-activated configurational changes necessary for large strains in glassy polymers. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J. Polym. Sci. B Polym. The ongoing Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic illustrates the need for sensitive and reliable tools to diagnose and monitor diseases. Traditional diagnostic approaches rely on centralized laboratory tests that result in long wait times to results and reduce the number of tests that can be given. Point-of-care tests (POCTs) are a group of technologies that miniaturize clinical assays into portable form factors that can be run both in clinical areas —in place of traditional tests— and outside of traditional clinical settings —to enable new testing paradigms. Hallmark examples of POCTs are the pregnancy test lateral flow assay and the blood glucose meter. Other uses for POCTs include diagnostic assays for diseases like COVID-19, HIV, and malaria but despite some successes, there are still unsolved challenges for fully translating these lower cost and more versatile solutions. To overcome these challenges, researchers have exploited innovations in colloid and interface science to develop various designs of POCTs for clinical applications. Herein, we provide a review of recent advancements in lateral flow assays, other paper based POCTs, protein microarray assays, microbead flow assays, and nucleic acid amplification assays. Features that are desirable to integrate into future POCTs, including simplified sample collection, end-to-end connectivity, and machine learning, are also discussed in this review. 相似文献
