First order functional differential equations with periodic boundary conditions

In this article, the authors prove an existence theorem for periodic boundary value problems for first order functional differential equations (FDE) in Banach algebras under mixed generalized Lipschitz and Carathéodory conditions. The existence of extremal positive solutions is also proved under certain monotonicity conditions. An example illustrating the results is included.     

Witt groups of function fields of hyperelliptic curves

The local cohomology modules H^J _I(M) of a Matlis reflexive module are shown to be I-cofinite when j >= 1 and have finite Bass numbers when j >= 0, where I is an ideal satisfying any one of a list of properties. In addition, we show that the completion of a Matlis reflexive module is finitely generated over the completion of the ring and we classify Matlis reflexive modules over a one dimensional ring.     

General reflexivity and pattern subspaces

This paper extends the theory of reflexivity triples by extending notions and results in the theory of dual operator algebras to this more general setting. In addition, a complete and simple characterization is given for the reflexivity of two-dimensional pattern spaces of finite matrices.     

FIXED POINTS AND STABILITY FOR QUARTIC MAPPINGS IN β-NORMED LEFT BANACH MODULES ON BANACH ALGEBRAS

The goal of the present paper is to investigate some new HUR-stability results by applying the alternative fixed point of generalized quartic functional equationin β-Banach modules on Banach algebras. The concept of Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability （briefly, HUR-stability） originated from Th. M. Rassias stability theorem that appeared in his paper： On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 72 （1978）, 297-300.     

Some contractive type mappings and their applications to difference equations

We discuss a class of discrete dynamic systems in a complete metric space (M, d) defined by mappings which satisfy various types of contractive type conditions. Their variants in ordered Banach space are investigated and applied to solve the global asymptotic stability of the equilibriums of some discrete dynamic systems.     

On Stepanov almost-periodic oscillations and their discretizations

The relationship between Carathéodory almost-periodic (a.p.) solutions and their discretizations is clarified for differential equations and inclusions in Banach spaces. Our investigation was stimulated by an old result of Meisters [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 10 (1959), pp. 113–119] about Bohr a.p. solutions which we generalize in several directions. Unlike for functions, Stepanov and Bohr a.p. sequences are shown to coincide. A particular attention is paid to purely (i.e. non-uniformly continuous) Stepanov a.p. solutions. Many ideas are explained in detail by means of examples illustrated.     

On strong solutions of a Robin problem modelling heat conduction in materials with corroded boundary

Motivated by a practical problem on a corrosion process, we shall study a third kind of BVP for a large class of elliptic equations in vector-valued L_p spaces. Particularly we will determine optimal spaces for boundary data and get maximal regularity for inhomogeneous equations. Then based on these results we shall treat some nonlinear problems. Our approach will be based on the semigroup theory, the interpolation theory of Banach spaces, fractional powers of positive operators, operator-valued Fourier multiplier theorems and the Banach fixed point theorem.     

Existence and algorithm of solutions for mixed equilibrium problems and bilevel mixed equilibrium problems in Banach spaces

Some classes of mixed equilibrium problems and bilevel mixed equilibrium problems are introduced and studied in reflexive Banach spaces. First, by using a minimax inequality, some new existence results of solutions and the behavior of solution set for the mixed equilibrium problems and the bilevel mixed equilibrium problems are proved under suitable assumptions without the coercive conditions. Next, by using auxiliary principle technique, some new iterative algorithms for solving the mixed equilibrium problems and the bilevel mixed equilibrium problems are suggested and analyzed. The strong convergence of the iterative sequences generated by the proposed algorithms is proved under suitable assumptions without the coercive conditions. These results are new and generalize some recent results in this field.
