Thermal stability of poly(mono-n-alkylitaconates) and mono-n-alkylitaconate-co-vinylpyrrolidone copolymers I

Poly(monoitaconates) containing octyl, decyl and dodecyl groups and random monoalkylitaconate-co-vinylpyrrolidone copolymers were studied by thermogravimetric analysis. Copolymers of mono-n-octylitaconate (MOI), mono-n-decylitaconate (MDI), and mono-n-dodecylitaconate (MDoI), respectively, with N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (VP) of different compositions were studied by dynamic thermogravimetric analysis. The thermal stability of the copolymers depends on the structure of the monoitaconate comonomer and on the composition of the copolymer The kinetic analysis of the degradation data shows that the thermal decomposition of these copolymers can be described by several kinetic orders depending on the copolymer and on the composition. The relative thermal stability of the copolymers increases as the VP content increases and as the length of the side chain of the itaconate increases, following the same trend as the flexibility of the copolymers in solution.     

Higher-order implicit strong numerical schemes for stochastic differential equations

Higher-order implicit numerical methods which are suitable for stiff stochastic differential equations are proposed. These are based on a stochastic Taylor expansion and converge strongly to the corresponding solution of the stochastic differential equation as the time step size converges to zero. The regions of absolute stability of these implicit and related explicit methods are also examined.

我国AB股双重上市公司经营业绩变化的实证分析

本文以46家在上海和深圳同时上市AB股的公司的样本,分析了公司实行双重上市前1年及其后4年的经营业绩的变化趋势以及股权结构和上市顺序对它的影响。研究表明,双重上市当年及其后4年经营业绩显著下降;股权结构和上市顺序对公司经营业绩影响明显。最后,文章提出了改善AB股公司经营业绩的对策建议。

The optical near-field speckles and their first order statistics on the basis of the integral equations of electromagnetic field

Periodic solutions of a second order forced sublinear differential equation with delay

In this paper, existence criteria are established for the existence of periodic solutions of a second order sublinear differential equation with delay and forcing function. Our method is based on careful a priori estimation and continuation theorems, and our sublinear condition is an improvement of the boundedness condition in some recent results.     

Structure theorem for tournaments omitting N5

A finite tournament T is tight if the class of finite tournaments omitting T is well‐quasi‐ordered. We show here that a certain tournament N₅ on five vertices is tight. This is one of the main steps in an exact classification of the tight tournaments, as explained in [10]; the third and final step is carried out in [11]. The proof involves an encoding of the indecomposable tournaments omitting N₅ by a finite alphabet, followed by an application of Kruskal's Tree Theorem. This problem arises in model theory and in computational complexity in a more general form, which remains open: the problem is to give an effective criterion for a finite set {T₁,…,T_k} of finite tournaments to be tight in the sense that the class of all finite tournaments omitting each of T₁,…,T_k is well‐quasi‐ordered. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
