对啁啾高斯脉冲光束在色散介质中的时间和光谱特性作了研究.给出了远场光谱蓝移和脉冲展宽的解析式.结果表明:通过选择适当的啁啾参量,啁啾高斯脉冲光束沿轴上传输色散长度时,脉冲可恢复到初始值.随啁啾参量增加,谱线宽度展宽,轴上光谱蓝移增加,在远场蓝移趋于一渐近值.随啁啾参量增加,离轴光谱红移增加.  相似文献

The paper generalizes paraxial complex geometrical optics (PCGO) for Gaussian beam (GB) propagation in nonlinear media of Kerr type. Ordinary differential equations for the beam amplitude and for complex curvature of the wave front are derived, which describe the evolution of axially symmetric GB in a Kerr type nonlinear medium. It is shown that PCGO readily provides the solutions of NLS equation obtained earlier from diffraction theory on the basis of the aberration-free approach. Besides reproducing classical results of self-focusing PCGO readily describes an influence of the initial curvature of the wave front on the beam evolution in a medium of Kerr type including a nonlinear graded-index fiber. The range of applicability of the PCGO theory is discussed as well which is helpful for avoiding nonphysical solutions.  相似文献

By making use of the theoretical framework presented by Bostroem(K.J.Bostroem,LANL quant-ph/0009052),we generalize the standard quantum information theory of block messages with fixed block length to the variable one.We show that the states belonging to a sufficiently large hilbert space are the highly distinguishable states.We also consider the collection states (product states of more than one qubit state) and seek a “pretty good measurement” (PGM) with measurement vectors to improve the mutual information.The average mutual information over random block-message ensembles with variable block length n is discussed in detail.  相似文献

Dynamical linked cluster expansions are linked cluster expansions with hopping parameter terms endowed with their own dynamics. We discuss physical applications to systems with annealed and quenched disorder. Examples are the bond-diluted Ising model and the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick spin glass. We derive the rules and identify the full set of graphs that contribute to the series in the quenched case. This way it becomes possible to avoid the vague extrapolation from positive integer n to n = 0, that usually goes along with an application of the replica trick. We study the deviations from perfect memory in negative temperature cycle spin glass experiments. It is known that the a.c. susceptibility after the temperature is raised back to its initial value is superimposed to the reference isothermal curve for large enough temperature jumps ΔT (perfect memory). For smaller ΔT, the deviation from this perfect memory has a striking non monotonous behavior: the `memory anomaly' is negative for small ΔT's, becomes positive for intermediate ΔT's, before vanishing for still larger ΔT's. We show that this interesting behavior can be reproduced by simple Random Energy trap models. We discuss an alternative interpretation in terms of droplets and temperature chaos. Amphoteric refraction of light ray at the interface between isotropic materials and anisotropic materials is analyzed. Depending on the incident angle, the refractive light ray can either refract positively or negatively. This amphoteric refraction phenomenon can be quite prevalent when the difference of the two principal refractive indices is large. The reflectance under various incident angles has also been calculated, and an experimental demonstration with a calcite crystal in air is presented.  相似文献

We demonstrate the proof-of-principle of a new separation concept for micrometer-sized particles in a structured microfluidic device. Under the action of externally applied, periodic voltage-pulses two different species of like-charged polystyrene beads are observed to simultaneously migrate into opposite directions. Based on a theoretical model of the particle motion in the microdevice that shows good agreement with the experimental measurements, the underlying separation mechanism is identified and explained. Potential biophysical applications, such as cell sorting, are briefly addressed.  相似文献

We review some of the techniques that lead to the effective medium representation of a three-dimensional (3D) periodic metamaterial. We consider a 3D lattice of lead telluride cubic resonators at mid-infrared (MIR) frequencies. Each cubic resonator is modeled with both an electric and a magnetic dipole, through a method called the dual dipole approximation. The electric and magnetic polarizabilities of a cubic resonator are computed via full-wave simulations by mapping the resonator's scattered field under electric/magnetic excitation only to the field radiated by an equivalent electric/magnetic dipole. We then analyze the allowed modes in the lattice, with transverse polarization and complex wavenumber, highlighting the attenuation that each mode experiences after one free space wavelength. We observe the presence of two modes with low attenuation constant, dominant in different frequency ranges, able to propagate inside the lattice: this allows the treatment of the metamaterial as a homogeneous material with effective parameters, evaluated by using various techniques. We then show that the metamaterial under analysis allows for the generation of artificial magnetism (i.e., relative effective permeability different than unity, including negative permeability with low losses) at MIR frequencies.  相似文献

设计制作了SU-8光栅结构的染料掺杂手性向列相液晶激光器件,在器件正面和侧面均实现了随机激光辐射。将激光染料PM597、手性剂S-811、向列性液晶TEB30A按一定比例均匀混合,注入反平行摩擦处理的液晶盒中,器件的下基板通过光掩模法刻蚀出周期为15μm的光栅。利用532 nm的Nd∶YAG固体脉冲激光器作为泵浦源,器件的侧面既在580~590 nm范围内出现了多个离散分立的随机激光辐射峰,FWHM约0.19 nm,又在579~585 nm范围内出现独立的两个激光辐射峰,FWHM约0.19 nm;在器件正面获得了584~590 nm范围的随机激光辐射谱,FWHM约0.17 nm。加热器件至61℃,液晶相变为各向同性态,器件侧面仍出现了波长约590.60 nm、FWHM约0.24 nm的激光辐射峰。分析得出,液晶盒中引入SU-8光栅结构后,光子同时在液晶分子间多重散射和SU-8光栅中布拉格反射获得反馈放大,两种机制相辅相成。器件侧面出现的独立激光辐射峰主要由SU-8光栅布拉格反射提供反馈放大形成,而器件侧面和正面的随机激光辐射峰主要由液晶分子间多重散射提供反馈放大形成。  相似文献
