What is the enthalpy of formation of acrylic acid?

Acrylic acid is a key industrial compound with numerous uses. Despite its importance, its enthalpy of formation is still contentious—even ignoring “ancient” determinations, there is a 12 kJ mol⁻¹ range of values reported for the gas phase quantity, −320 to −332 kJ mol⁻¹. Our quantum chemical calculations using current methodology suggest the value of −321 ± 3 kJ mol⁻¹.

MODELING CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE EFFECT ON THE NORWEGIAN SALMON FARMING INDUSTRY

Abstract Global warming is expected to affect the ecosystem in the Northeast Atlantic, and substantial changes will also affect the aquaculture industry. Farming of salmon and trout is the biggest aquaculture industry in Norway, with an export value of about 3 billion US dollars in 2007. The objective of the paper is to analyze the potential economic effect a general increase in sea temperature can have on the Norwegian salmon aquaculture industry. The assessment of the economic impact of global warming is made possible by estimating a growth function, which explicitly includes sea water temperature. The analysis compares the economic effect of a climate change on fish farming plants in the south and the north of Norway. The scenarios are based on a model with monthly seasonal variation in temperature.     

The assessment of the information quality with the aid of multiple criteria analysis

The virtual business work flow depends on the information quality (IQ) which is essential attribute of information. The IQ depends strongly on organization of the information system (IS) and how the information is processed. In our approach we incorporate the four-aspect representation of IQ: (1) intrinsic, (2) contextual, (3) representational, and (4) accessibility. These four-aspects are divided into several criteria at the next level of hierarchy. The weights, representing the relative importance of criteria, have been assessed by pair-wise comparisons made by group of experts. Based on discussion with experts, six alternative strategies, that could be used for improving the IQ, were designed. For each given criterion, the group of subjects revealed the opinion about the level of achievement of every alternative. The set of scores, assigned to the alternative by different subjects, formed the discrete distribution that is used for a comparison of alternatives with the aid of stochastic dominances. In analogy to the Electre I methodology, the simple algorithm for the aggregate evaluation of analyzed alternatives was proposed. The benefits of proposed approach were demonstrated in a case study of the semiconductor industry. The results of our study suggest, that in case of matured company, the external strategies, that point out to the information exchange and strategic networked alliance with customers and suppliers, are preferred to the internal ones. The latter ones might be of greater importance for the new set up or for a young company.

Evolutionary stability of auction and supply chain contracting: An analysis based on disintermediation in the Indian tea supply chains

The purpose of this paper is to show that evolutionary stable market equilibrium is achievable through complete disintermediation of auctioneers if the option of bargaining-based supply chain contracting exists. The paper analyzes the evolutionary dynamics of a market that caters both the scopes of auction-intermediation and supply chain contracting to a set of homogeneous buyers and sellers. The motivation of this work developed from the contradiction between the theoretical framework of Lu and McAfee (1996) that identifies auction to be evolutionary stable over bargaining and the real instance of sustained disintermediation of auctioneers in the world’s largest tea industry in India where supply chain contracting is the other option of trading.     

基于智能竞标的自适应轨压控制算法

设计了一种应用于高压共轨柴油发动机的轨压控制算法。算法采用组合竞拍机制以解决复合工况下的轨压扰动问题,并设计了一种分段动态标定算法以解决传统PID标定算法计算效率低的问题,此外算法针对柴油发动机特性对PID控制器进行了多项改进以提高算法响应速度和跟随性。最后通过仿真实验对算法进行了验证,实验结果证明本算法对输入转速信号及喷油期望值具有良好的跟随性和响应速度,并且轨压控制较为平稳,其波动幅度不超过1%,基本符合高压共轨柴油发动机正常工作的需要。
