On a generalization of the Kalman-Yakubovic lemma

In this paper we generalize the Kalman-Yakubovic lemma to infinite dimensions—or, more precisely, to semigroups of operators over a Hilbert space. The proof differs substantially from the finite-dimensional version and is based on the Paley-Wiener-Helson-Lowdenslager factorization theorem.     

Effect of Notoginsenoside- Rg1 on the Expression of Several Proteins in the Striatum of Rat Models with Parkinson''s Disease

After establishing hemi-Parkinsonian rat models, the relationships between neuron death and the expression of several proteins, such as c-Fos, GFAP, GDNF, NF-κB and some cytokines were determined. Therapeutics experiments with notoginsenoside-Rg1 were carried out. The research results show that the expressions of GFAP, NF-κB and c-Fos will obviously increase in the lesion side of the striatum and the expression of GDNF will decrease, which implies that the signal transduction pathway may participate in the apoptosis in neurons. The levels of some cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β in the striatum of PD rat models increased compared to those of normal rats. The results of the therapeutics experiments show that notoginsenoside-Rg1 may repress the immune inflammation response and regulate the immune function through the neuro-immune molecular network. Therefore, notoginsenoside-Rg1 can be used as an effective drug for anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation, and can be used in the therapy of Parkinson's disease(PD).     

Service stage Petri net models with product form solution

A class of service stage Petri net models whose equilibrium probabilities satisfy local balance equations is presented. Examples of their applicability include bus oriented multiprocessor interconnections, the classical dining philosophers problem and the alternating bit protocol. The natural topological space for embedding the state transition lattice for this class of SSPN is shown to be a multidimensional toroidal manifold.     

A high-precision study of the hopfield model in the phase of broken replica symmetry

Using a multi-spin coding algorithm, the Hopfield model is studied for network sizes up toN=33,968. Thermodynamically stable states are found in a region where the replica-symmetric solution predicts none should exist, but where a one-step replica symmetry-breaking calculation predicts some should exist. Furthermore, the order parameter in this region is found to take on two distinct values, one of which is not predicted by any theory.     

The employment of relativistic adapted Gaussian basis sets in Douglas–Kroll–Hess scalar calculations with diatomic molecules

The prolapse-free relativistic adapted Gaussian basis sets (RAGBSs), developed by our research group on the basis of the four-component approach, are used for the first time in Douglas–Kroll–Hess 2nd order scalar relativistic calculations (DKH2) of simple diatomic molecules containing Hydrogen and the halogens from Fluorine up to Iodine: HX and X₂, where X = F, Cl, Br, and I. To this end, the RAGBSs were contracted with the general contraction scheme to triple-, quadruple-, and quintuple-zeta sets. Polarization functions were also added to the basis sets by optimization with the configuration interaction method including single and double excitations into the DKH2 environment, DKH2-CISD. The molecular properties were then calculated with the coupled cluster electronic correlation treatment and the DKH2 scalar relativistic method, DKH2-CCSD(T), and indicated that our RAGBSs should be contracted as quadruple-zeta basis sets. The results achieved with the DKH2-CCSD(T) calculations and the selected quadruple-zeta RAGBSs are able to reproduce the experimental data of equilibrium distances, dissociation energies, and harmonic vibrational frequencies with root-mean-square (rms) errors of 0.015 Å, 3.6 kcal mol⁻¹, and 21.7 cm⁻¹, respectively.

We consider power systems with complex-valued coeficients. We establish a necessary and suficient condition for completeness and minimality and also a necessary condition for the basis property of these systems in Lebesgue spaces.
