Uniqueness of the solution for optimal static routing in open BCMP queueing networks

Optimal static routing problems in open BCMP queueing networks with state-independent arrival and service rates are studied. They include static routing problems in communication networks and optimal static load balancing problems in distributed computer systems. We consider an overall optimal policy that is the routing policy whereby the overall mean response (or sojourn) time of a job is minimized. We obtain the routing decisions of the overall optimal policy and show that they may not be unique, but that the utilization of each service center is uniquely determined by the overall optimal policy. We also consider an individually optimal policy whereby jobs are routed so that each job may feel that its own expected response time is minimized if it knows the mean delay time for each path.

Conditions for swappability of records in a microdata set when some marginals are fixed

We consider swapping of two records in a microdata set for the purpose of disclosure control. We give some necessary and sufficient conditions that some observations can be swapped between two records under the restriction that a given set of marginals are fixed. We also give an algorithm to find another record for swapping if one wants to swap out some observations from a particular record.

GLOBAL EXPONENTIAL STABILITY IN HOPFIELD AND BIDIRECTIONAL ASSOCIATIVE MEMORY NEURAL NETWORKS WITH TIME DELAYS

Without assuming the boundedness, strict monotonicity and differentiability of the activation functions, the authors utilize the Lyapunov functional method to analyze the global convergence of some delayed models. For the Hopfield neural network with time delays, a new sufficient condition ensuring the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point is derived. This criterion concerning the signs of entries in the connection matrix imposes constraints on the feedback matrix independently of the delay parameters. From a new viewpoint, the bidirectional associative memory neural network with time delays is investigated and a new global exponential stability result is given.     

Characteristic Elements of Unimodular -lattices

Characteristic elements have been useful in the classification of unimodular lattices over the integers. This article gives an explicit formula for characteristic elements of a lattice in terms of a basis for the lattice and the dual of that basis.

为了便于建立与网络最大流问题有关的决策支持系统，本给出一个求解网络最大流问题的数值算法。证明了算法的理论依据，并举例说明了算法的应用。该算法能求出网络最大流和最小截，并具有易于编程实现、收敛性好等优点，大量数值实验表明该算法非常实用有效。     

求解最大利润流问题的一个算法

为了便于建立与最大利润流问题有关的决策支持系统，本给出了一个交易网络中求最大利润流的数值算法，证明了算法的理论依据，并举例了说明算法的应用。该算法能求得问题的最优解，并具有易于编程实现、收敛性好等优点，大量数值实验表明该算法非常实用有效。
