Algebraic Shifting of Finite Graphs

In the present article, for bipartite graphs and chordal graphs, their exterior algebraic shifted graph and their symmetric algebraic shifted graph are studied. First, we will determine the symmetric algebraic shifted graph of complete bipartite graphs. It turns out that for a ≥ 3 and b ≥ 3, the exterior algebraic shifted graph of the complete bipartite graph K _a,b of size a, b is different from the symmetric algebraic shifted graph of K _a,b . Second, we will show that the exterior algebraic shifted graph of any chordal graph G coincides with the symmetric algebraic shifted graph of G. In addition, it will be shown that the exterior algebraic shifted graph of any chordal graph G is equal to some combinatorial shifted graph of G.     

Cohen and multiple Cohen strongly summing multilinear operators

Considering the successful theory of multiple summing multilinear operators as a prototype, we introduce the classes of multiple Cohen strongly p-summing multilinear operators and polynomials. The adequacy of these classes under the viewpoint of the theory of multilinear and polynomial ideals and holomorphy types is discussed in detail.     

On Quotient Rings in Alternative Rings

We introduce a notion of left nonsingularity for alternative rings and prove that an alternative ring is left nonsingular if and only if every essential left ideal is dense, if and only if its maximal left quotient ring is von Neumann regular (a Johnson-like Theorem). Finally, we obtain a Gabriel-like Theorem for alternative rings.     

Ideal-Symmetric and Semiprime Rings

Lambek extended the usual commutative ideal theory to ideals in noncommutative rings, calling an ideal A of a ring R symmetric if rst ∈ A implies rts ∈ A for r, s, t ∈ R. R is usually called symmetric if 0 is a symmetric ideal. This naturally gives rise to extending the study of symmetric ring property to the lattice of ideals. In the process, we introduce the concept of an ideal-symmetric ring. We first characterize the class of ideal-symmetric rings and show that this ideal-symmetric property is Morita invariant. We provide a method of constructing an ideal-symmetric ring (but not semiprime) from any given semiprime ring, noting that semiprime rings are ideal-symmetric. We investigate the structure of minimal ideal-symmetric rings completely, finding two kinds of basic forms of finite ideal-symmetric rings. It is also shown that the ideal-symmetric property can go up to right quotient rings in relation with regular elements. The polynomial ring R[x] over an ideal-symmetric ring R need not be ideal-symmetric, but it is shown that the factor ring R[x]/xⁿR[x] is ideal-symmetric over a semiprime ring R.     

Integrated Density of States for Ergodic Random Schrödinger Operators on Manifolds

We consider the Riemannian universal covering of a compact manifold M = X/ and assume that is amenable. We show the existence of a (nonrandom) integrated density of states for an ergodic random family of Schrödinger operators on X.     

On Fitting Ideals of Certain étale K-groups

Let F be an Abelian number field and S the set of primes of F that are either ramified or over p, with p an odd prime. In this paper we compute the (first) Fitting ideal of K _2i–2 ^ét (O _F ^S () for i 2, where O _F ^S is the ring of S-integers of F and is a character of Gal(F/) of order prime to p different from the ith power of the Teichmüller character. This Fitting ideal proves to be principal and generated by a Stickelberger element.     

The ε c -Product of a Schwartz b-Space by a Quotient Banach Space and Applications

We define the -product of a -space by a quotient Banach space. We give conditions under which this -product will be monic. Finally, we define the _c -product of a Schwartz b-space by a quotient Banach space and we give some examples of applications.     

A note on Mustaţă's computation of multiplier ideals of hyperplane arrangements

In 2006, M. Mustaţă used jet schemes to compute the multiplier ideals of reduced hyperplane arrangements. We give a simpler proof using a log resolution and generalize to non-reduced arrangements. By applying the idea of wonderful models introduced by De Concini-Procesi in 1995, we also simplify the result. Indeed, Mustaţă's result expresses the multiplier ideal as an intersection, and our result uses (generally) fewer terms in the intersection.
