In this paper, we propose a definition of determinant for quaternionic polynomial matrices inspired by the well‐known Dieudonné determinant for the constant case. This notion allows to characterize the stability of linear dynamical systems with quaternionic coefficients, yielding results which generalize the ones obtained for the real and complex cases. We use the complex and quaternionic hyperbolic versions of Jørgensen's inequality to construct embedded collars about short, simple, closed geodesics in complex and quaternionic hyperbolic manifolds. In general, the width of these collars depend both on the length of the geodesic and on the rotational part of the group element uniformising it. For complex hyperbolic space we are able to use a lemma of Zagier to give an estimate based only on the length. We show that these canonical collars are disjoint from each other and from canonical cusps. We also calculate the volumes of these collars. 相似文献

In this paper we show a version of the Fueter mapping theorem that can be stated in integral form based on the Cauchy formulas for slice monogenic (or slice regular) functions. More precisely, given a holomorphic function f of a paravector variable, we generate a monogenic function by an integral transform whose kernel is particularly simple. This procedure allows us to define a functional calculus for n‐tuples of commuting operators (called ?‐functional calculus) based on a new notion of spectrum, called ?‐spectrum, for the n‐tuples of operators. Let HPn be the quaternionic projective space with constant quaternionic sectional curvature 4. Then locally there exists a tripe {I, J, K} of complex structures on HPn satisfying U = -JI = K,JK = -KJ = /, KI = -IK = J. A surface M(?) HPn is called totally real, if at each point p ∈M the tangent plane TPM is perpendicular to I(TPM), J(TPM) and K(TPM). It is known that any surface M(?)RPn(?) HPn is totally real, where RPn (?) HPn is the standard embedding of real projective space in HPn induced by the inclusion R in H, and that there are totally real surfaces in HPn which don't come from this way. In this paper we show that any totally real minimal 2-sphere in HPn is isometric to a full minimal 2-sphere in Rp2m (?) RPn(?) HPn with 2m≤n. As a consequence we show that the Veronese sequences in KP2m (m≥1) are the only totally real minimal 2-spheres with constant curvature in the quaternionic projective space. 相似文献
