Line intensities of acetylene: New measurements in the 1.5-μm spectral region and global modelling in the ΔP=10 series

Using the Fourier transform spectra of the acetylene molecule recorded near 1.5-μm, the intensities of 111 lines belonging to seven hot bands of the main isotopologue ¹²C₂H₂ have been retrieved by means of a multispectrum fitting procedure. Considering the density of lines in the spectra, and the fact that the measured bands are the weakest observed, the accuracy of the measurements is around 10%. At first stage, an empirical treatment of these data has been performed, leading to the vibrational transition dipole moment squared and some Herman–Wallis coefficients. Then the measured line intensities of this work and collected ones from the literature have been treated simultaneously within the framework of the effective operator approach.

In this paper, we study the commutativity of Toeplitz operators with radial symbols on the pluriharmonic Bergman space. We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for the commutativity of bounded Toeplitz operator and Toeplitz operator with radial symbol on the pluriharmonic Bergman space.     

Existence of pulses in excitable media with nonlocal coupling

We prove the existence of fast traveling pulse solutions in excitable media with non-local coupling. Existence results had been known, until now, in the case of local, diffusive coupling and in the case of a discrete medium, with finite-range, non-local coupling. Our approach replaces methods from geometric singular perturbation theory, that had been crucial in previous existence proofs, by a PDE oriented approach, relying on exponential weights, Fredholm theory, and commutator estimates.     

The localized longitudinal index theorem for Lie groupoids and the van Est map

We define the “localized index” of longitudinal elliptic operators on Lie groupoids associated with Lie algebroid cohomology classes. We derive a topological expression for these numbers using the algebraic index theorem for Poisson manifolds on the dual of the Lie algebroid. Underlying the definition and computation of the localized index, is an action of the Hopf algebroid of jets around the unit space, and the characteristic map it induces on Lie algebroid cohomology. This map can be globalized to differentiable groupoid cohomology, giving a definition of the “global index”, that can be computed by localization. This correspondence between the “global” and “localized” index is given by the van Est map for Lie groupoids.     

Trace formulas for additive and non-additive perturbations

Trace formulas for pairs of self-adjoint, maximal dissipative and accumulative as well as other types of resolvent comparable operators are obtained. In particular, the existence of a complex-valued spectral shift function for a pair {H^′,H}$\{H^{\prime },H\}$ of maximal accumulative operators has been proved. We investigate also the existence of a real-valued spectral shift function. Moreover, we treat in detail the case of additive trace class perturbations. Assuming that H   and H^′=H+V$H^{\prime }=H+V$ are maximal accumulative and V is trace class, we prove the existence of a summable   complex-valued spectral shift function. We also obtain trace formulas for pairs {H,H^?}$\{H,H^{?}\}$assuming only that H and  H^?$H^{?}$are resolvent comparable. In this case the determinant of the characteristic function of H is involved in trace formulas.     

Commuting Toeplitz operators on the hardy space of the polydisk

In this paper, we show that two Toeplitz operators T_f and T_g on the Hardy space of the polydisk can commute if and only if the Berezin transform of the commutator [T_f, T_g] is n-harmonic.
