Asymptotic expansions are given for large values of n of the generalized Bessel polynomials . The analysis is based on integrals that follow from the generating functions of the polynomials. A new simple expansion is given that is valid outside a compact neighborhood of the origin in the z-plane. New forms of expansions in terms of elementary functions valid in sectors not containing the turning points z=±i/n are derived, and a new expansion in terms of modified Bessel functions is given. Earlier asymptotic expansions of the generalized Bessel polynomials by Wong and Zhang (1997) and Dunster (2001) are discussed. 相似文献

We describe extremal functions for the generalized Fekete-Szegö functional over the class of hyperbolically convex functions. We apply the Julia variational formula to reduce the problem to mappings onto hyperbolic polygons having no more than two proper sides. In general, this is the best result possible. This paper proposes new explicit formulas for the doubling and addition steps in Miller's algorithm to compute the Tate pairing on elliptic curves in Weierstrass and in Edwards form. For Edwards curves the formulas come from a new way of seeing the arithmetic. We state the first geometric interpretation of the group law on Edwards curves by presenting the functions which arise in addition and doubling. The Tate pairing on Edwards curves can be computed by using these functions in Miller's algorithm. Computing the sum of two points or the double of a point and the coefficients of the corresponding functions is faster with our formulas than with all previously proposed formulas for pairings on Edwards curves. They are even competitive with all published formulas for pairing computation on Weierstrass curves. We also improve the formulas for Tate pairing computation on Weierstrass curves in Jacobian coordinates. Finally, we present several examples of pairing-friendly Edwards curves.Video

We investigate the asymptotic behavior of the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions of q‐Sturm‐Liouville eigenvalue problems. For this aim we study the asymptotic behavior of q‐trigonometric functions as well as fundamental sets of solutions of the associated second order q‐difference equation. As in classical Sturm‐Liouville theory, the eigenvalues behave like zeros of q‐trigonometric functions and the eigenfunctions behave like q‐trigonometric functions. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Finite-time boundedness and finite-time weighted L2-gain for a class of switched delay systems with time-varying exogenous disturbances are studied. Based on the average dwell-time technique, sufficient conditions which guarantee the switched linear system with time-delay is finite-time bounded and has finite-time weighted L2-gain are given. These conditions are delay-dependent and are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Detail proofs are given by using multiple Lyapunov-like functions. Some generalizations of the Apostol-Genocchi polynomials and the Stirling numbers of the second kind

Recently, the authors introduced some generalizations of the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and the Apostol-Euler polynomials (see [Q.-M. Luo, H.M. Srivastava, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 308 (2005) 290-302] and [Q.-M. Luo, Taiwanese J. Math. 10 (2006) 917-925]). The main object of this paper is to investigate an analogous generalization of the Genocchi polynomials of higher order, that is, the so-called Apostol-Genocchi polynomials of higher order. For these generalized Apostol-Genocchi polynomials, we establish several elementary properties, provide some explicit relationships with the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and the Apostol-Euler polynomials, and derive various explicit series representations in terms of the Gaussian hypergeometric function and the Hurwitz (or generalized) zeta function. We also deduce their special cases and applications which are shown here to lead to the corresponding results for the Genocchi and Euler polynomials of higher order. By introducing an analogue of the Stirling numbers of the second kind, that is, the so-called λ-Stirling numbers of the second kind, we derive some basic properties and formulas and consider some interesting applications to the family of the Apostol type polynomials. Furthermore, we also correct an error in a previous paper [Q.-M. Luo, H.M. Srivastava, Comput. Math. Appl. 51 (2006) 631-642] and pose two open problems on the subject of our investigation. 相似文献

A new local algorithm for bivariate interpolation of large sets of scattered and track data is presented. The method, which changes partially depending on the kind of data, is based on the partition of the interpolation domain in a suitable number of parallel strips, and, starting from these, on the construction for any data point of a square neighbourhood containing a convenient number of data points. Then, the well-known modified Shepard’s formula for surface interpolation is applied with some effective improvements. The proposed algorithm is very fast, owing to the optimal nearest neighbour searching, and achieves good accuracy. Computational cost and storage requirements are analyzed. Moreover, the efficiency and reliability of the algorithm are shown by several numerical tests, also performed by Renka’s algorithm for a comparison. 相似文献

In this paper, we first investigate a two-parametric class of smoothing functions which contains the penalized smoothing Fischer-Burmeister function and the penalized smoothing CHKS function as special cases. Then we present a smoothing Newton method for the nonlinear complementarity problem based on the class of smoothing functions. Issues such as line search rule, boundedness of the level set, global and quadratic convergence are studied. In particular, we give a line search rule containing the common used Armijo-type line search rule as a special case. Also without requiring strict complementarity assumption at the P0-NCP solution or the nonemptyness and boundedness of the solution set, the proposed algorithm is proved to be globally convergent. Preliminary numerical results show the efficiency of the algorithm and provide efficient domains of the two parameters for the complementarity problems. 相似文献

A normalized univalent function f is called Ma-Minda starlike or convex if zf′(z)/f(z)?φ(z) or 1+zf″(z)/f′(z)?φ(z) where φ is a convex univalent function with φ(0)=1. The class of Ma-Minda convex functions is shown to be closed under certain operators that are generalizations of previously studied operators. Analogous inclusion results are also obtained for subclasses of starlike and close-to-convex functions. Connections with various earlier works are made. 相似文献
