Generalized Derivations with Skew Nilpotent Values on Lie Ideals

This article gives characterizations of generalized derivations with skew nilpotent values on noncommutative Lie ideals of a prime ring. The results simultaneously generalize the ones of Herstein, Lee and Carini et al.     

On the theta completions for maximal subalgebras

Let L be a finite dimensional Lie algebra. Then for a maximal subalgebra M of L, a 𝜃-completion for M is a subalgebra C of L such that CM and M_L?C and C∕M_L contains no non-zero ideal of L∕M_L, properly. And a 𝜃-completion C of M is said to be a strong 𝜃-completion, if C = L or there exists a subalgebra B of L such that C be maximal in B and B is not a 𝜃-completion for M. These are analogous to the concepts of 𝜃-completion and strong 𝜃-completion of a maximal subgroup of a finite group. Now, we consider the influence of these concepts on the structure of a finite dimensional Lie algebra.     

Nil-Clean Rings with Involution

A *-ring R is called a nil *-clean ring if every element of R is a sum of a projection and a nilpotent.Nil *-clean rings are the *-version of nil-clean rings introduced by Diesl.This paper is about the nil *-clean property of rings with emphasis on matrix rings.We show that a *-ring R is nil *-clean if and only if J(R) is nil and R/J(R) is nil*-clean.For a 2-primal *-ring R,with the induced involution given by (aij)* =(a*ij)T,the nil *-clean property of Mn(R) is completely reduced to that of Mn(Z2).Consequently,Mn(R) is not a nil *-clean ring for n =3,4,and M2(R) is a nil *-clean ring if and only if J(R) is nil,R/J(R) is a Boolean ring and a*-a ∈ J(R) for all a ∈ R.

设幂零群G=KP=PK,其中P是有限秩的幂零p-群,K是G的有限秩的p-自由的正规子群,p不属于K的谱Sp(K).设1=ζ0Gζ1G···ζcG=G是G的上中心列,α和β是G的两个p-自同构,把α,β在每个ζiG/ζi-1G上的诱导自同构分别记为αi和βi,又记Ii:=Im(αiβi-βiαi),则(i)如果每个Ii都是有限循环群,并且I:=(αβ(g))(βα(g))-1|g∈G是G的有限子群,那么α和β生成一个有限p-群;(ii)如果Ii或为有限循环群,或为拟循环p-群,或为Zpn⊕Zp∞对某自然数n,那么α和β生成一个可解的剩余有限p-群,它是有限生成的无挠幂零群被有限p-群的扩张;(iii)如果Ii或为有限循环群,或为拟循环p-群,或为Zpn⊕Zp∞,或为无挠的局部幂零群,或Ii有正规列1JiIi,其商因子分别为有限循环群、无挠的局部幂零群,或Ii=Zp∞⊕Ji,Ji为无挠的局部幂零群,或Ii有正规列1KiJiIi,其商因子分别为有限循环群、拟循环p-群、无挠的局部循环群,那么α和β生成一个可解的剩余有限p-群,它的幂零长度至多是3.特别地,当K是一个FC-群时,在情形(iii),α和β生成的群也是有限生成的无挠幂零群被有限p-群的扩张.此外,如果G=KP里,K是一个FC-群,对G的下中心列考虑了类似的问题,得到了"对偶"的结果.     

First-order definability and algebraicity of the sets of annihilating and generating collections of elements for some relatively free solvable groups

We study the first-order definable, Diophantine, and algebraic subsets in the set of all ordered sets generating a group or generating a group as a normal subgroup for some relatively free solvable groups.     

Strictly nilpotent elements and bispectral operators in the Weyl algebra

In this paper we give another characterization of the strictly nilpotent elements in the Weyl algebra, which (apart from the polynomials) turn out to be all bispectral operators with polynomial coefficients. This also allows to reformulate in terms of bispectral operators the famous conjecture, that all the endomorphisms of the Weyl algebra are automorphisms (Dixmier, Kirillov, etc).     

The Smallest Degree Sum That Yields Potentially Kr＋1 - K3-Graphic Sequences

Let a（Kr,＋1 - K3,n） be the smallest even integer such that each n-term graphic sequence п= （d1,d2,…dn） with term sum σ（п） = d1 ＋ d2 ＋…＋ dn 〉 σ（Kr＋1 -K3,n） has a realization containing Kr＋1 - K3 as a subgraph, where Kr＋1 -K3 is a graph obtained from a complete graph Kr＋1 by deleting three edges which form a triangle. In this paper, we determine the value σ（Kr＋1 - K3,n） for r ≥ 3 and n ≥ 3r＋ 5.
