An analysis of the buckling and post-buckling of a delaminated composite strut is presented using a simple 4 degree of freedom nonlinear Rayleigh–Ritz formulation. Bifurcation analysis indicates that instability occurs in general at an asymmetric point of bifurcation. Depending on the depth of delamination both thin-film and overall buckling can occur in the post-buckling range, the transition being seen at a point of secondary bifurcation. For certain combinations of parameters this becomes a stellar bifurcation, associated with a double eigenvalue, where there are three possible subsequent routes for the post-buckling. The method used is fast and reliable and can be readily extended to modelling a composite with several layers.  相似文献

Certain classes of slender structures of complex cross-section or fabricated from specialised materials can exhibit a bi-linear bending moment-curvature relationship that has a strong influence on their global structural behaviour. This condition may be encountered, for instance, in (a) non-linear elastic or inelastic post-buckling problems if the cross-section stiffness may be well approximated by a bi-linear model; (b) multi-layered structures such as stranded cables, power transmission lines, umbilical cables and flexible pipes where the drop in the bending stiffness is associated with an internal friction mechanism. This paper presents a mathematical formulation and an analytical solution for such slender structures with a bi-linear bending moment versus curvature constitutive behaviour and subjected to axial terminal forces. A set of five first-order non-linear ordinary differential equations are derived from considering geometrical compatibility, equilibrium of forces and moments and constitutive equations, with hinged boundary conditions prescribed at both ends, resulting a complex two-point boundary value problem. The variables are non-dimensionalised and solutions are developed for monotonic and unloading conditions. The results are presented in non-dimensional graphs for a range of critical curvatures and reductions in bending stiffness, and it is shown how these parameters affect the structure's post-buckling behaviour.  相似文献

Based on the assumption of finite deformation, the Hamilton variational principle is extended to a nonlinear elastic Euler-type beam-column structure located on a nonlinear elastic foundation. The corresponding three-dimensional (3D) mathematical model for anaiyzing the nonlinear mechanical behaviors of structures is established, in which the effects of the rotation inertia and the nonlinearity of material and geometry are considered. As an application, the nonlinear stability and the post-buckling for a linear elastic beam with the equal cross-section located on an elastic foundation are analyzed.One end of the beam is fully fixed, and the other end is partially fixed and subjected to an axial force. A new numerical technique is proposed to calculate the trivial solution,bifurcation points, and bifurcation solutions by the shooting method and the Newton-Raphson iterative method. The first and second bifurcation points and the corresponding bifurcation solutions are calculated successfully. The effects of the foundation resistances and the inertia moments on the bifurcation points are considered.  相似文献

Post-buckling phenomena of slender rods have attracted great attention for both theoretical and engineering aspects. In this study, we explored the post-buckling behavior of a slender rod with two hinged ends under its self-weight. We first established the potential energy functional of the system, and then derived the governing differential equations according to the principle of least potential energy. We further addressed the physical meaning of the Lagrange multiplier by analyzing the force equilibrium. A computer code of shooting method was developed by using the commercial software MathCAD, which has proved efficient in computing the post-buckling configurations of the rod. We finally discussed the buckling of an oil sucker rod adopting our numerical results, which will be beneficial to the engineering design.  相似文献

变角度(Variable angle tow,简称VAT)纤维复合材料层合板的纤维方向能够连续变化.相较于传统的直线纤维层合板,此类层合板通过刚度变化,整体的屈曲性能可以得到很大的提升.本文利用ABAQUS 自带的粘结单元(Cohesive Element)对预制圆形分层的变角度纤维复合材料层合板进行了后屈曲力学行为研究,得出载荷位移曲线,以及分层裂纹萌生和扩展的情况.然后本文分析了预制分层尺寸对板的刚度、前后屈曲阶段和裂纹萌生及扩展的影响.最后通过变角度纤维层合板和直线纤维层合板的后屈曲力学行为进行对比,深入探索了变角度复合材料层合板在抵抗分层裂纹萌生和扩展方面的优势.  相似文献

基于代理模型和等效刚度模型的加筋柱壳混合优化设计   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
针对轴压作用下的加筋柱壳后屈曲性能优化计算较大的问题,本文提出了一种基于代理模型和等效刚度模型的混合优化策略,即运用基于等效刚度的平铺模型进行有限元后屈曲分析以代替试验设计中大量的精细加筋模型分析,并通过控制等效模型的单元尺寸来调整其分析精度,而等效刚度模型计算时长仅约为精细加筋模型的1/3。对构建的代理模型采用多岛遗传算法进行极限承载力等约束下的轻量化设计,调用精细模型有限元后屈曲分析对代理模型进行更新,从而保证代理模型的拟合精度并得到优化解。工程算例结果表明,本文提出的混合优化方法,使加筋柱壳结构在满足承载力情况下减重效果明显。  相似文献
