On concentration of solution to a Schrödinger logarithmic equation with deepening potential well

In this work, we prove the existence of positive solution for the following class of problems where λ>0 and is a potential satisfying some conditions. Using the variational method developed by Szulkin for functionals, which are the sum of a C¹ functional with a convex lower semicontinuous functional, we prove that for each large enough λ>0, there exists a positive solution for the problem, and that, as λ→+∞, such solutions converge to a positive solution of the limit problem defined on the domain Ω=int(V^?1({0})).     

On a second-order nonlinear discrete multi-point eigenvalue problem

We study the existence and non-existence of positive solutions of a system of nonlinear second-order difference equations with eigenvalues subject to multi-point boundary conditions.     

ON CERTAIN CLASS OF MEROMORPHIC FUNCTIONS WITH POSITIVE COEFFICIENTS

In the present investigation we define a new class of meromorphic functions on the punctured unit disk △*:= {z ∈ C : 0 < |z| < 1} by making use of the generalized Dziok-Srivastava operator H l m [α1 ]. Coefficient inequalities, growth and distortion inequalities, as well as closure results are obtained. We also establish some results concerning the partial sums of meromorphic functions and neighborhood results for functions in new class.     

On the existence of positive solutions of the p‐Laplacian dynamic equations on time scales

In this paper, we investigate the existence of positive solutions for a nonlinear m‐point boundary value problem for the p‐Laplacian dynamic equations on time scales, by applying a Krasnosel'skii's fixed point theorem. A fast algorithm for the spectral radii of weakly reducible nonnegative tensors

In this paper, we propose a fast algorithm for computing the spectral radii of symmetric nonnegative tensors. In particular, by this proposed algorithm, we are able to obtain the spectral radii of weakly reducible symmetric nonnegative tensors without requiring the partition of the tensors. As we know, it is very costly to determine the partition for large‐sized weakly reducible tensors. Numerical results are reported to show that the proposed algorithm is efficient and also able to compute the spectral radii of large‐sized tensors. As an application, we present an algorithm for testing the positive definiteness of Z‐tensors. By this algorithm, it is guaranteed to determine the positive definiteness for any Z‐tensor.     

Electron impact,electron capture negative ionization and positive chemical ionization mass spectra of organophosphorus flame retardants and plasticizers

Phosphate esters are important commercial products that have been used both as flame retardants and as plasticizers. To analyze these compounds by gas chromatographic mass spectrometry, it is important to understand the mass spectra of these compounds using various ionization modes. This paper is a systematic overview of the electron impact (EI), electron capture negative ionization (ECNI) and positive chemical ionization (PCI) mass spectra of 13 organophosphate esters. These data are useful for developing and optimizing analytical measurements. The EI spectra of these 13 compounds are dominated by ions such as H₄PO₄⁺, (M ? Cl)⁺, (M ? CH₂Cl)⁺ or (M)⁺ depending on specific chemical structures. The ECNI spectra are generally dominated by (M ? R)^?. The PCI spectra are mainly dominated by the protonated molecular ion (M + H)⁺. The branching of the alkyl substituents, the halogenation of the substituents and, for aromatic phosphate esters, ortho alkylation of the ring are all significant factors controlling the details of the fragmentation processes. EI provides the best sensitivity for the quantitative measurement of these compounds, but PCI and ECNI both have considerable qualitative selectivity. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

A uniqueness theorem of radially symmetric positive stationary solutions for a competition–diffusion system

In this paper, as a first step to study the global structure of solution, we treat a class of reaction–diffusion systems with competitive interaction, and discuss a uniqueness theorem of radially symmetric solutions for the system. To do this, the comparison principle and the shooting method are employed, and the spatial profile is investigated.     

Existence of positive solutions to a coupled system of fractional differential equations

We consider the following system of fractional differential equations where is the Riemann‐Liouville fractional derivative of order α,f,g : [0,1] × [0, ∞ ) × [0, ∞ ) → [0, ∞ ).
