Local existence and uniqueness for a geometrically exact membrane‐plate with viscoelastic transverse shear resistance

We prove the local existence and uniqueness to a geometrically exact, observer‐invariant membrane‐plate model introduced by the author. The model consists of an elliptic partial differential system of equations describing the equilibrium response of the membrane which is non‐linearly coupled with a viscoelastic evolution equation for exact rotations, taking on the role of an orthonormal triad of directors. This coupling introduces a viscoelastic transverse shear resistance. Refined elliptic regularity results together with a new extended Korn's first inequality for plates and shells allow to proceed by a fixed point argument in appropriately chosen Sobolev‐spaces in order to prove existence and uniqueness. 本文应用非线性振动的平均法，分析了一个具有立方非线性并受简谐激励作用的三圆盘扭振系统的第二阶主共振，求得了稳态响应的分岔方程，并进行了奇异性分析，理论结果与实验结果相符·     

The longtime behavior of a nonlinear Reissner-Mindlin plate with exponentially decreasing memory kernels

In this paper we investigate the longtime behavior of the mathematical model of a homogeneous viscoelastic plate based on Reissner-Mindlin deformation shear assumptions. According to the approximation procedure due to Lagnese for the Kirchhoff viscoelastic plate, the resulting motion equations for the vertical displacement and the angle deflection of vertical fibers are derived in the framework of the theory of linear viscoelasticity. Assuming that in general both Lame's functions, λ and μ, depend on time, the coupling terms between the equations of displacement and deflection depend on hereditary contributions. We associate to the model a nonlinear semigroup and show the behavior of the energy when time goes on. In particular, assuming that the kernels λ and μ decay exponentially, and not too weakly with respect to the physical properties considered in the model, then the energy decays uniformly with respect to the initial conditions; i.e., we prove the existence of an absorbing set for the semigroup associated to the model.

Boundary Integral Equations in Dynamic Problems for Elastic Plates

Initial-boundary value problems with Dirichlet and Neumann conditions arising in the theory of bending of plates with transverse shear deformation are reduced to time-dependent boundary integral equations by means of layer potentials. The solvability of these equations is then investigated in Sobolev-type spaces. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

A method for predicting the deflection of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with carbon plates

For strengthening bent beams, plates of reinforced plastics are glued to their tensioned surface. As s result, the beam becomes layered, and it is possible to control its rigidity and deflection. Based on the methods of structural mechanics of layered media, a method is elaborated for determining the deflection of such beams on the entire range of loading up to their ultimate failure. 具有自由边的复合材料层合板的解析解

从三维弹性力学基本方程出发,通过假设自由边的边界位移函数,建立了正交异性层合板的状态方程,给出了对边自由,对边简支矩形板的解析解.此解满足层合板的基本方程和层间连续条件.用本文的方法比较容易处理层合板的自由边.算例表明,数值结果具有较高的精度.     

Edge waves in asymmetrically laminated plates

We study edge waves propagating along the edge of an asymmetrically laminated elastic plate for which the out-of-plane component of displacement is coupled with the in-plane components. A Stroh-like formulation is used to show that such a plate can support at most two edge waves. An efficient method for computing the edge-wave speeds is proposed and explained through examples.
