We present a new pump probe laser beams configuration for the nonlinear optical characterization of microemulsions. We detect
the variation of the on-axis optical intensity of the probe beam as generated by the concentration profile induced in an optically
thin film of microemulsion by the pump beam. A mathematical model has been introduced to describe the phenomenon. The technique
allows the determination of both Kerr-like optical nonlinearity and time constants and, therefore, it gives information both
on cluster dimension and their shape. We discuss its application to WAD (water/AOT/decane, where AOT denotes sodium-bis-di-ethyl-sulfosuccinate)
with the application of a strong electric field of optical source. Comparison between theoretical predictions and experimental
results confirms the presence of giant optical nonlinearity in the absence of turbidity divergence. Chainlike shape of clusters,
of the kind already reported with the application of strong electric field, could justify this result.

We investigate the dynamics of spinodal dewetting in liquid-liquid polymer systems. Dewetting of poly(methyl-methacrylate)
(PMMA) thin films on polystyrene (PS) “substrates” is followed in situ using neutron reflectivity. By following the development of roughness at the PS/PMMA interface and the PMMA surface we extract
characteristic growth times for the dewetting process. These characteristic growth times are measured as a function of the
molecular weight of the two polymers. By also carrying out experiments in the regime where the dynamics are independent of
the PS molecular weight, we are able to use dewetting to probe the scaling of the PMMA thin film viscosity with temperature
and molecular weight. We find that this scaling reflects bulk behaviour. However, absolute values are low compared to bulk
viscosities, which we suggest may be due in part to slippage at the polymer/polymer interface.

In this paper, a discrete KdV equation that is related to the famous continuous KdV equation is studied. First, an integrable discrete KdV hierarchy is constructed, from which several new discrete KdV equations are obtained. Second, we correspond the first several discrete equations of this hierarchy to the continuous KdV equation through the continuous limit. Third, the generalized (m, 2N − m)-fold Darboux transformation of the discrete KdV equation is established based on its known Lax pair. Finally, the diverse exact solutions including soliton solutions, rational solutions and mixed solutions on non-zero seed background are obtained by applying the resulting Darboux transformation, and their asymptotic states and physical properties such as amplitude, velocity, phase and energy are analyzed. At the same time, some soliton solutions are numerically simulated to show their dynamic behaviors. The properties and results obtained in this paper may be helpful to understand some physical phenomena described by KdV equations. 相似文献

The goal of this article is to discuss the Simple Equations Method (SEsM) for obtaining exact solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations and to show that several well-known methods for obtaining exact solutions of such equations are connected to SEsM. In more detail, we show that the Hirota method is connected to a particular case of SEsM for a specific form of the function from Step 2 of SEsM and for simple equations of the kinds of differential equations for exponential functions. We illustrate this particular case of SEsM by obtaining the three- soliton solution of the Korteweg-de Vries equation, two-soliton solution of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, and the soliton solution of the Ishimori equation for the spin dynamics of ferromagnetic materials. Then we show that a particular case of SEsM can be used in order to reproduce the methodology of the inverse scattering transform method for the case of the Burgers equation and Korteweg-de Vries equation. This particular case is connected to use of a specific case of Step 2 of SEsM. This step is connected to: (i) representation of the solution of the solved nonlinear partial differential equation as expansion as power series containing powers of a “small” parameter ; (ii) solving the differential equations arising from this representation by means of Fourier series, and (iii) transition from the obtained solution for small values of to solution for arbitrary finite values of . Finally, we show that the much-used homogeneous balance method, extended homogeneous balance method, auxiliary equation method, Jacobi elliptic function expansion method, F-expansion method, modified simple equation method, trial function method and first integral method are connected to particular cases of SEsM. 相似文献

An excruciating issue that arises in mathematical, theoretical and astro-physics concerns the possibility of regularizing classical singular black hole solutions of general relativity by means of quantum theory. The problem is posed here in the context of a manifestly covariant approach to quantum gravity. Provided a non-vanishing quantum cosmological constant is present, here it is proved how a regular background space-time metric tensor can be obtained starting from a singular one. This is obtained by constructing suitable scale-transformed and conformal solutions for the metric tensor in which the conformal scale form factor is determined uniquely by the quantum Hamilton equations underlying the quantum gravitational field dynamics. 相似文献

The (2+1)-dimensional Boiti–Leon–Manna–Pempinelli (BLMP) equation is an important integrable model. In this paper, we obtain the breather molecule, the breather-soliton molecule and some localized interaction solutions to the BLMP equation. In particular, by employing a compound method consisting of the velocity resonance, partial module resonance and degeneration of the breather techniques, we derive some interesting hybrid solutions mixed by a breather-soliton molecule/breather molecule and a lump, as well as a bell-shaped soliton and lump. Due to the lack of the long wave limit, it is the first time using the compound degeneration method to construct the hybrid solutions involving a lump. The dynamical behaviors and mathematical features of the solutions are analyzed theoretically and graphically. The method introduced can be effectively used to study the wave solutions of other nonlinear partial differential equations. 相似文献

The approximate solutions of Dirac equation with Morse potential in the presence of Coulomb-like tensor potential are obtained by using Laplace transform (LT) approach. The energy eigenvalue equation of the Dirac particles is found and some numerical results are obtained. A 1H NMR spectroscopic determination for acetate and lactate in intravenous and haemodialysis solutions is reported. The methyl resonances of acetate and lactate were chosen for integration using N-methylurea and sodium acetate, respectively, as internal standards.
