Mathematical models for the elastic beam with structural damping

In this paper the existence, regularity and sharp estimates for the solutions of an abstract second order evolution equation are proved and applications to models of a (possibly non homogeneous) elastic beam with a frequency-proportional damping are given.

We present some results on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a two-point boundary-value problem that models gyre flows in rotating spherical coordinates.     

Existence of subharmonic solutions and homoclinic orbits for a class of even higher order differential equations

Using the variational structure and the Z ₂ group index theory we establish the existence of subharmonic solutions and homoclinic solutions for a class of even higher order differential equation.     

On the existence of more positive solutions of periodic bvps with singularity

We consider Periodic boundary value problems for ordinary second order differential equations of the form u′′=f(t,u,u′), Where f satisfies the (local) Carathéodory conditions and can have a singularity in the second variable.Writing our problem in an operator can be computed on. These sets are not convex, in general. Using the degree theory we get at least one fixed point of the operator at each such set which leads to the existence and localization of more solutions of the related Periodic boundary value problem. Our results are based on the generalized lower and upper functions method from Rach?nková and Tvrdý[15].

Existence results of periodic solutions for third‐order nonlinear singular differential equation

Using Green's function for third‐order differential equation and some fixed‐point theorems, i.e., Leray‐Schauder alternative principle and Schauder's fixed point theorem, we establish three new existence results of periodic solutions for nonlinear third‐order singular differential equation, which extend and improve significantly existing results in the literature.     

Almost Split Sequences in Dimension One

Let R be a complete discrete valuation ring with quotient field K, and let Λ be an R-order in a semisimple K-algebra. For an indecomposable Λ-lattice E, a sublattice Bi E satisfying Rad E ? Bi E is defined, and it is shown that the middle term H of an almost split sequence τE ? H ? E can be obtained by an amalgamation of E/Bi E with E′/τE for a suitable overlattice E′ of τE. The method is bound to dim R = 1.
