Partitioned Tensor Products and Their Spectra

A pleasant family of graphs defined by Godsil and McKay is shown to have easily computed eigenvalues in many cases.     

Infinitesimal Generators of C *-Algebras

We develop the method introduced previously, to construct infinitesimal generators on locally compact group C ^*-algebras and on tensor product of C ^*-algebras. It is shown in particular that there is a C ^* -algebra A such that the C ^*-tensor product of A and an arbitrary C ^*-algebra B can have a non-approximately inner strongly one parameter group of ^*-automorphisms.     

A tensor norm preserving unconditionality for -spaces

We show that, for each , there is an -tensor norm (in the sense of Grothendieck) with the surprising property that the -tensor product has local unconditional structure for each choice of arbitrary -spaces . In fact, is the tensor norm associated to the ideal of multiple -summing -linear forms on Banach spaces.

     

Atomic decompositions for tensor products and polynomial spaces

We study the existence of atomic decompositions for tensor products of Banach spaces and spaces of homogeneous polynomials. If a Banach space X admits an atomic decomposition of a certain kind, we show that the symmetrized tensor product of the elements of the atomic decomposition provides an atomic decomposition for the symmetric tensor product , for any symmetric tensor norm μ. In addition, the reciprocal statement is investigated and analogous consequences for the full tensor product are obtained. Finally we apply the previous results to establish the existence of monomial atomic decompositions for certain ideals of polynomials on X.     

Uniqueness and perturbation bounds for sparse non-negative tensor equations

We discuss the uniqueness and the perturbation analysis for sparse non-negative tensor equations arriving from data sciences. By two different techniques, we may get better ranges of parameters to guarantee the uniqueness of the solution of the tensor equation. On the other hand, we present some perturbation bounds for the tensor equation. Numerical examples are given to show the efficiency of the theoretical results.     

New Homogeneous Einstein Metrics on SO(7)/T

The authors compute non-zero structure constants of the full flag manifold M = SO(7)/T with nine isotropy summands, then construct the Einstein equations. With the help of computer they get all the forty-eight positive solutions (up to a scale ) for SO(7)/T, up to isometry there are only five G-invariant Einstein metrics, of which one is Kähler Einstein metric and four are non-Kähler Einstein metrics.     

Ridigity of Ricci solitons with weakly harmonic Weyl tensors

In this paper, we prove rigidity results on gradient shrinking or steady Ricci solitons with weakly harmonic Weyl curvature tensors. Let be a compact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton satisfying with constant. We show that if satisfies , then is Einstein. Here denotes the Weyl curvature tensor. In the case of noncompact, if M is complete and satisfies the same condition, then M is rigid in the sense that M is given by a quotient of product of an Einstein manifold with Euclidean space. These are generalizations of the previous known results in 10 , 14 and 19 . Finally, we prove that if is a complete noncompact gradient steady Ricci soliton satisfying , and if the scalar curvature attains its maximum at some point in the interior of M, then either is flat or isometric to a Bryant Ricci soliton. The final result can be considered as a generalization of main result in 3 .     

Dyadic method for tensor functions

In this paper, we discuss tensor functions by dyadic representation of tensor. Two different cases of scalar invariants and two different cases of tensor invariants are calculated. It is concluded that there are six independent scale invariants for a symmetrical tensor and an antisymmetrical tensor, and there are twelve invariants for two symmetrical tensors and an antisymmetrical tensor. And we present a new list of tensor invariants for the tensor-valued isotropic function. Let(M~n, g)(n ≥ 3) be an n-dimensional complete Riemannian manifold with harmonic curvature and positive Yamabe constant. Denote by R and R?m the scalar curvature and the trace-free Riemannian curvature tensor of M, respectively. The main result of this paper states that R?m goes to zero uniformly at infinity if for p ≥ n, the L~p-norm of R?m is finite.As applications, we prove that(M~n, g) is compact if the L~p-norm of R?m is finite and R is positive, and(M~n, g) is scalar flat if(M~n, g) is a complete noncompact manifold with nonnegative scalar curvature and finite L~p-norm of R?m. We prove that(M~n, g) is isometric to a spherical space form if for p ≥n/2, the L~p-norm of R?m is sufficiently small and R is positive.In particular, we prove that(M~n, g) is isometric to a spherical space form if for p ≥ n, R is positive and the L~p-norm of R?m is pinched in [0, C), where C is an explicit positive constant depending only on n, p, R and the Yamabe constant.
