In this cross-sectional study, the relationship between noninvasively measured neurocardiovascular signal entropy and physical frailty was explored in a sample of community-dwelling older adults from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA). The hypothesis under investigation was that dysfunction in the neurovascular and cardiovascular systems, as quantified by short-length signal complexity during a lying-to-stand test (active stand), could provide a marker for frailty. Frailty status (i.e., “non-frail”, “pre-frail”, and “frail”) was based on Fried’s criteria (i.e., exhaustion, unexplained weight loss, weakness, slowness, and low physical activity). Approximate entropy (ApEn) and sample entropy (SampEn) were calculated during resting (lying down), active standing, and recovery phases. There was continuously measured blood pressure/heart rate data from 2645 individuals (53.0% female) and frontal lobe tissue oxygenation data from 2225 participants (52.3% female); both samples had a mean (SD) age of 64.3 (7.7) years. Results revealed statistically significant associations between neurocardiovascular signal entropy and frailty status. Entropy differences between non-frail and pre-frail/frail were greater during resting state compared with standing and recovery phases. Compared with ApEn, SampEn seemed to have better discriminating power between non-frail and pre-frail/frail individuals. The quantification of entropy in short length neurocardiovascular signals could provide a clinically useful marker of the multiple physiological dysregulations that underlie physical frailty.  相似文献

Near infrared (NIR) spectrometry was used for the rapid characterization of quality parameters in desi chickpea flour (besan). Partial least square regression, principal component regression (PCR), interval partial least squares (iPLS), and synergy interval partial least squares (siPLS) were used to determine the protein, carbohydrate, fat, and moisture concentrations of besan. Spectra were collected in reflectance mode using a lab-built predispersive filter-based instrument from 700 to 2500?nm. The quality parameters were also determined by standard methods. The root mean square error (RMSE) for the calibration and validation sets was used to evaluate the performance of the models. The correlation coefficients for moisture, fat, protein, and carbohydrates in chickpea flour exceeded 0.96 using PLS and PCR models using the full spectral range. Wavelengths from 2100 to 2345?nm had the lowest RMSE for quality parameters by iPLS. The error was further decreased by 0.41, 0.1, and 1.1% for carbohydrates, fats, and proteins by siPLS. The NIR spectral regions yielding the lowest RMSE of prediction were 1620–2345?nm for carbohydrates, 1180–1590?nm and 1860–2094?nm for fat, and 1700–2345?nm for proteins. The study shows that chickpea flour quality parameters were accurately determined using the optimized wavelengths.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm‐based wavelength selection (GAWLS) method for visible and near‐infrared (Vis/NIR) spectral calibration. The objective of GAWLS is to construct robust and predictive regression models by selecting informative wavelength regions. To demonstrate the ability of the proposed method, regression models for soil properties and sugar content of apples are constructed by using GAWLS and other variable selection methods. The performance of Partial Least Squares regression (PLS) in predicting the output with multivariate cross‐ and autocorrelated data is studied. With many correlated predictors of varying importance PLS does not always predict well and we propose a modified algorithm, Partitioned Partial Least Squares (PPLS). In PPLS the predictors are partitioned into smaller subgroups and the important subgroups with high prediction power are identified. Finally, regular PLS analysis using only those subgroups is performed. The proposed Partitioned PLS (PPLS) algorithm is used in the analysis of data from a real pharmaceutical batch fermentation process for which the process variables follow certain profiles during a specific fermentation period. We observed that PPLS leads to a more accurate prediction of the yield of the fermentation process and an easier interpretation, since fewer predictors are used in the final PLS prediction. In the application important issues such as alignment of the profiles from one batch to another and standardization of the predictors are also addressed. For instance, in PPLS noise magnification due to standardization does not seem to create problems as it might in regular PLS. Finally, PPLS is compared to several recently proposed functional PLS and PCR methods and a genetic algorithm for variable selection. More specifically for a couple of publicly available data sets with near infrared spectra it is shown that overall PPLS has lower cross‐validated error than PLS, PCR and the functional modifications hereof, and is similar in performance to a more complex genetic algorithm. 基于近红外光纤漫反射技术,利用偏最小二乘法分别建立了复方氯丙那林胶囊的三种药效成分盐酸氯丙那林、盐酸溴己新和盐酸去氯羟嗪的快速同时测定方法。所建立的盐酸氯丙那林、盐酸溴己新和盐酸去氯羟嗪的定量分析多元校正模型的相关系数分别为99.7%、99.4%和99.0%,校正集的均方根残差分别为0.028、0.145和0.250,预测均方根误差分别为0.055、0.120和0.210。由于该方法是在不经任何预处理的情况下的光纤快速同时分析,因此可用于复方氯丙那林的过程质量控制。  相似文献

The secondary metabolites of different Ephedra plants are various. Therefore, the discrimination of different Ephedra plants is significant. An objective, easy-to-use, rapid and pollution-free approach is proposed for discriminating Ephedra plants of different species, habitats and picking times on the basis of diffuse reflectance Fourier transform near infrared spectroscopy (FT-NIRS) measurements and multivariate analysis. The Fourier transform near infrared diffuse reflectance spectra (NIRDRS) were acquired from 37 pulverized samples of Ephedra plants put in glass vials in the near infrared (NIR) region between 10 000 and 4000 cm−1, averaging 64 scans per spectrum at a resolution of 4 cm−1. After spectra processing and data pre-processing, spectral data were analyzed respectively with three multivariate analysis techniques: discriminant analysis (DA), self-organizing map (SOM) and back-propagation artificial neural network (BP-ANN). The proposed method could distinguish not only the Ephedra plants of three species and two habitats but also the plants picked at different times of day without special sample treatment and the use of chemical reagents. The performance indexes of the DA model were 84.2-91.9% and the prediction accuracies of both the SOM and the BP-ANN models reached 93.3-100.0%.  相似文献

In the present study, controlled reheating and breakdown rolling experiments have been carried out and the thickness, structure and uniformity of the resultant near‐surface deformed layer have been characterised by scanning and transmission electron microscopy. High aspect ratio rolling, coupled with an increased rolling speed and rough and worn roll surfaces results in a high degree of interaction between the work roll and work pieces. This generates a shingled surface appearance with a high population of transverse surface cracks and a relatively thick near‐surface deformed layer. In contrast, relatively low aspect ratio rolling, coupled with a reduced rolling speed and freshly ground work roll surfaces generates a relatively thin near‐surface deformed layer. The thickness of the near‐surface deformed layer varies across the alloy surface and is directly related to the shingles, the surface cracks and the distribution of coarse intermetallics. In the present study, the effects of mechanical polishing on the microstructure and corrosion behaviour of AA7075 aluminium alloy are investigated. It was found that a nano‐grained, near‐surface deformed layer, up to 400 nm thickness, is developed due to significant surface shear stress during mechanically polishing. Within the near‐surface deformed layer, the alloying elements have been redistributed and the microstructure of the alloy is modified; in particular, the normal MgZn2 particles for T6 are absent. However, segregation bands, approximately 10‐nm thick, containing mainly zinc, are found at the grain boundaries within the near‐surface deformed layer. The presence of such segregation bands promoted localised corrosion along the grain boundaries within the near‐surface deformed layer due to microgalvanic action. During anodic polarisation of mechanically polished alloy in sodium chloride solution, two breakdown potentials were observed at ?750 mV and ?700 mV, respectively. The first breakdown potential is associated with an increased electrochemical activity of the near‐surface deformed layer, and the second breakdown potential is associated with typical pitting of the bulk alloy.
