A note on a paper “A regularization method for the proximal point algorithm”

In this note, a small gap is corrected in the proof of H.K. Xu [Theorem 3.3, A regularization method for the proximal point algorithm, J. Glob. Optim. 36, 115–125 (2006)], and some strict restriction is removed also.

The main purpose of this paper is to study the surjectivity theorems for maximal monotone mapping in reflexive Banach spaces by using fixed point theory.We prove some new surjectivity theorems under some conditions and give its application in differential equation.     

On Lipschitz and D.C. surfaces of finite codimension in a Banach space

Properties of Lipschitz and d.c. surfaces of finite codimension in a Banach space and properties of generated σ-ideals are studied. These σ-ideals naturally appear in the differentiation theory and in the abstract approximation theory. Using these properties, we improve an unpublished result of M. Heisler which gives an alternative proof of a result of D. Preiss on singular points of convex functions.     

Iterative convergence theorems for maximal monotone operators and relatively nonexpansive mappings

In this paper, some iterative schemes for approximating the common element of the set of zero points of maximal monotone operators and the set of fixed points of relatively nonexpansive mappings in a real uniformly smooth and uniformly convex Banach space are proposed. Some strong convergence theorems are obtained, to extend the previous work.     

Isometries on and monotone functions

We study necessary and sufficient conditions on a bounded operator T defined on the Hilbert space to be an isometry and show that, under suitable hypotheses, it suffices to restrict T to a smaller class of functions (e.g., if , to the cone of positive and decreasing functions). We also consider the problem of characterizing the sets for which the orthogonal projection of the operator T on is also an isometry. Finally, we illustrate our results with several examples involving classical operators on different settings.     

Confined modified realizability

We present a refinement ofthe bounded modified realizability which provides both upper and lower bounds for witnesses. Our interpretation is based on a generalisation of Howard/Bezem's notion of strong majorizability. We show how the bounded modified realizability coincides with (a weak version of) our interpretation in the case when least elements exist (e.g. natural numbers). The new interpretation, however, permits the extraction of more accurate bounds, and provides an ideal setting for dealing directly with data types whose natural ordering is not well‐founded (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. A control problem governed by a second-order differential inclusion

This article studies some Bolza-type problems governed by second-order differential inclusions with two boundary conditions, where the controls are Young measures.     

Convergence of mann iteration processes for nonexpansive operators in equi-connected metric spaces

The paper deals with various conditions implying the convergence of a Mann type iteration process constructed for a non-expansive operator in an equi-connected space (i. e. metric space equipped with a connecting function; so the iterates are taken along certain curves). Coefficients of the iterates do not have to be separated from 0 or 1. 1].     

Continuous dependence on data for bilocal difference equations

The continuous dependence on data is studied for a class of second order difference equations governed by a maximal monotone operator A in a Hilbert space. A nonhomogeneous term f appears in the equation and some bilocal boundary conditions a, b are added. One shows that the function which associates to {a, b, A, f} the solution of this boundary value problem is continuous in a specific sense. One uses the convergence of a sequence of operators in the sense of the resolvent. The problem studied here is the discrete variant of a problem from the continuous case.
