Lumped parameter, compartmental models provide a promising Method for mathematically studying the dynamics of human intracranial pressure. In this modeling approach, a system of fully time-dependent differential equations for interacting compartmental pressures is obtained by considering the intracranial system to be confined within the almost-rigid skull and developing continuity equations associated with conservation of mass. Intracranial volumes and flows are related to compartmental pressure differences through compliance and resistance parameters. In the nonlinear case where compliances are not constant, there is a lack of physical information about these parameters. Consequently, it is vital that any mathematical model with an assumed pressure-dependent compliance be validated through comparison with experimental data. The present work develops a logistic representation for the compliance between the cerebrospinal fluid and brain matter compartments. The nonlinear mathematical model involving this logistic compliance is validated here by comparing its predicted response for bolus injections of cerebrospinal fluid to laboratory data generated in an animal model. Comparison with the animal studies fully supports the validity of the mathematical model with the logistic compliance. 相似文献

以相位光栅为实验对象,开展了基于数字显微全息技术的相位物体三维显微结构信息的再现研究.在Mach-Zender透射式实验系统的基础上,分别采用显微物镜和无透镜放大方式,对相位光栅进行放大,以提高系统横向分辨率.在显微物镜放大系统中,菲涅耳近似数值再现算法与双波长技术相结合,抑制主要系统噪音,获得相位光栅的显微结构三维分布.在无透镜放大数字显微全息系统中,分别利用菲涅耳近似法和卷积方法再现原始物波前,并提出相减法消除系统主要球面误差,获得相位光栅的深度信息.实验结果与Veeco干涉仪测试结果比对表明,光栅周期和深度结构与干涉仪测试数据相符. 相似文献

Green chemistry can strongly attract students to chemistry. We, therefore, developed a green chemistry educational game that motivates students at the undergraduate and advanced high school levels to consider green chemistry and sustainability concerns as they design a hypothetical, chemical product. The game is intended for incorporation into any chemistry course for majors and non-majors that teaches sustainability and/or the Principles of Green Chemistry at the undergraduate level. The game is free of charge and encourages students to think like professional chemical designers and to develop a chemical product with respect to function and improved human and environmental health. Finsler geometry of topological singularities for multi‐valued fields: Applications to continuum theory of defects 下载免费PDF全文
Topological singularity in a continuum theory of defects and a quantum field theory is studied from a viewpoint of differential geometry. The integrability conditions of singularity (Clairaut‐Schwarz‐Young theorem) are expressed by a torsion tensor and a curvature tensor when a Finslerian intrinsic parallelism holds for the multi‐valued function. In the context of the quantum field theory, the singularity called an extended object is expressed by the torsion when the intrinsic parallelism is related to the spontaneous breakdown of symmetry. In the continuum theory of defects, the path‐dependency of point and line defects within a crystal is interpreted by the non‐vanishing condition of torsion tensor in a non‐Riemannian space osculated from the Finsler space, and the domain is not simply connected. On the other hand, for the rotational singularity, an energy integral (J‐integral) around a disclination field is path‐independent when a nonlinear connection is single‐valued. This means that the topological expression for the sole defect (Gauss‐Bonnet theorem with genus ) is understood by the integrability of nonlinear connection.
