The analysis of mechanical structures using the Finite Element Method in the framework of large elastoplastic strain, needs frequent remeshing of the deformed domain during computation. Indeed, the remeshing is due to the large geometrical distortion of finite elements and the adaptation to the physical behavior of the solution. This paper gives the necessary steps to remesh a mechanical structure during large elastoplastic deformations with damage. An important part of this process is constituted by geometrical and physical error estimates. The proposed method is integrated in a computational environment using the ABAQUS/Explicit solver and the BL2D-V2 adaptive mesher. To cite this article: H. Borouchaki et al., C. R. Miscible blends of modified poly(aryl ether ketones) with aromatic polyimides

The phase behavior of binary blends of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK), sulfonated PEEK, and sulfamidated PEEK with aromatic polyimides is reported. PEEK was determined to be immiscible with a poly(amide imide) (TORLON 4000T). Blends of sulfonated and sulfamidated PEEK with this poly(amide imide), however, are reported here to be miscible in all proportions. Blends of sulfonated PEEK and a poly(ether imide) (ULTEM 1000) are also reported to be miscible. Spectroscopic investigations of the intermolecular interactions suggest that formation of electron donoracceptor complexes between the sulfonated/sulfamidated phenylene rings of the PEEKs and the n-phenylene units of the polyimides are responsible for this miscibility. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

On the construction of samples for testing approximate optimization methods for estimate calculation algorithms

To validate approximate optimization schemes for estimate calculation algorithms (ECAs), it is necessary to compute the optimal height, which cannot be done in a reasonable amount of time. A variety of samples are built for which the optimal height of the ECAs is known by construction.     

A mixed‐FEM formulation for nonlinear incompressible elasticity in the plane

This article deals with an expanded mixed finite element formulation, based on the Hu‐Washizu principle, for a nonlinear incompressible material in the plane. We follow our related previous works and introduce both the stress and the strain tensors as further unknowns, which yields a two‐fold saddle point operator equation as the corresponding variational formulation. A slight generalization of the classical Babu?ka‐Brezzi's theory is applied to prove unique solvability of the continuous and discrete formulations, and to derive the corresponding a priori error analysis. An extension of the well‐known PEERS space is used to define an stable associated Galerkin scheme. New Jacobian Elliptic Function Solutions of Modified KdV Equation: Ⅱ

Recently, we obtained thirteen families of Jacobian elliptic function solutions of mKdV equation by usingour extended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method. In this note, the mKdV equation is investigated and anotherthree families of new doubly periodic solutions (Jacobian elliptic function solutions) are fbund again by using a newtransformation, which and our extended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method form a new method still called theextended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method. The new method can be more powertul to be applied to othernonlinear differential equations.

New Exact Solutions to the Combined KdV and mKdV Equation

The modified mapping method is developed to obtain new exact solutions to the combined KdV and mKdV equation. The method is applicable to a large variety of nonlinear evolution equations, as long as odd- and even-order derivative terms do not coexist in the equation under consideration.     

Fourier regularization for a backward heat equation

In this paper a simple and convenient new regularization method for solving backward heat equation—Fourier regularization method is given. Meanwhile, some quite sharp error estimates between the approximate solution and exact solution are provided. A numerical example also shows that the method works effectively.
