Block-Projections Algorithms with Blocks Containing Mutually Orthogonal Rows and Columns

In this paper we present an algorithm which, for a given (sparse) matrix, constructs a partition of its set of row-indices, such that each subset of this partition (except the last one obtained) contains indices which correspond to mutually orthogonal rows. We then use such decompositions in some classes of block-projections methods, previously extended by the author to general inconsistent linear least-squares problems. Numerical experiments on an inconsistent and rank-deficient least-squares model problem are described in the last section of the paper.

Connecting orbits among Denjoy minimal sets for monotone twist map

In a Birkhoff region of instability for an exact area-preserving twist map, we construct some orbits connecting distinct Denjoy minimal sets. These sets correspond to the local, instead of global minimum of the Lagrangian action. In the earlier work, Mather constructed connecting orbits among Aubry-Mather sets and the global minimizer of the Lagrangian action.     

幂零群的若干充分条件

本文利用Ｃ－正规子群的性质，得到了若干有限群为幂零群的充分条件，推广了一些著名定理，如Ｔｈｏｍｐｓｏｎ定理及Ｉｔ＾ｏ定理。     

矩阵方程AXAT=C的对称斜反对称解

设A∈Rm×n,C∈Rm×m给定,利用矩阵的广义奇异值分解和对称斜反对称矩阵的性质,得到了矩阵方程(1)AXAT=C存在对称斜反对称解的充要条件和通解表达式;证明了若方程(1)有解,则一定存在唯一极小范数解,并给出了极小范数解的具体表达式和求解步骤.     

GMRES and the minimal polynomial

We present a qualitative model for the convergence behaviour of the Generalised Minimal Residual (GMRES) method for solving nonsingular systems of linear equationsAx =b in finite and infinite dimensional spaces. One application of our methods is the solution of discretised infinite dimensional problems, such as integral equations, where the constants in the asymptotic bounds are independent of the mesh size.Our model provides simple, general bounds that explain the convergence of GMRES as follows: If the eigenvalues ofA consist of a single cluster plus outliers then the convergence factor is bounded by the cluster radius, while the asymptotic error constant reflects the non-normality ofA and the distance of the outliers from the cluster. If the eigenvalues ofA consist of several close clusters, then GMRES treats the clusters as a single big cluster, and the convergence factor is the radius of this big cluster. 最小偏差分析法在经济周期分析中的应用

利用最小偏差分析法,分析了我国GDP增长率的周期性特征,并对我国今后几年的GDP增长率进行了预测.分析的结果是:从1953—2006年,我国GDP增长率存在着7年左右的小周期,15年左右的中周期,19年左右的中长周期和28年左右的大周期,而且随着时间的推移,经济周期的波动幅度逐渐趋小,反映出经济增长的稳定性增强.预测的结果是:今后几年(2年或更长一段时间)我国GDP增长率应该保持在10%左右,波动的区间为[9%,11%].     

局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形中紧致极小子流形的一个刚性定理

本文研究局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形中紧致极小子流形,得到了这类子流形第二基本形式模长平方关于外围空间Ricci曲率的—个拼挤定理,推广了文[1]中的结果.     

Optimality Conditions for D.C. Vector Optimization Problems Under Reverse Convex Constraints

In this paper, we establish global necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for D.C. vector optimization problems under reverse convex constraints. Estimates for the Eigenvalues of Matrices

For matrices whose eigenvalues are real (such as Hermitian or real symmetric matrices), we derive simple explicit estimates for the maximal (λ_max) and the minimal (λ_min) eigenvalues in terms of determinants of order less than 3. For 3 × 3 matrices, we derive sharper estimates, which use det A but do not require to solve cubic equations.
