The computation of three-dimensional viscous flows on complex geometries requiring distorted meshes is of great interest. This paper presents a finite volume solver using a quadratic reconstruction of the unknowns for the advective fluxes computation, and a conservative and consistent discretization of the diffusive terms, based on an extended version of the Coirier's diamond path. We give several additive Schwarz domain decomposition methods for solving finite element problems which arise from the discretizations of elliptic problems on general unstructured meshes in two and three dimensions. Our theory requires no assumption (for the main results) on the substructures which constitute the whole domain, so each substructure can be of arbitrary shape and of different size. The global coarse mesh is allowed to be non-nested to the fine grid on which the discrete problem is to be solved and both the coarse meshes and the fine meshes need not be quasi-uniform. In this general setting, our algorithms have the same optimal convergence rate of the usual domain decomposition methods on structured meshes. The condition numbers of the preconditioned systems depend only on the (possibly small) overlap of the substructures and the size of the coares grid, but is independent of the sizes of the subdomains.Revised version on Sept. 20, 1994. The numerical approximation by a lower‐order anisotropic nonconforming finite element on appropriately graded meshes are considered for solving semisingular perturbation problems. The quasi‐optimal‐order error estimates are proved in the ε‐weighted H1‐norm valid uniformly, up to a logarithmic factor, in the singular perturbation parameter. By using the interpolation postprocessing technique, the global superconvergent error estimates in ε‐weighted H1‐norm are obtained. Edge-element methods have proved very effective for 3-D electromagnetic computations and are widely used on unstructured meshes. However, the accuracy of standard edge elements can be criticised because of their low order. This paper analyses discrete dispersion relations together with numerical propagation accuracy to determine the effect of tetrahedral shape on the phase accuracy of standard 3-D edge-element approximations in comparison to other methods. Scattering computations for the sphere obtained with edge elements are compared with results obtained with vertex elements, and a new formulation of the far-field integral approximations for use with edge elements is shown to give improved cross sections over conventional formulations. 相似文献

We propose and analyze an algorithm for the robust construction of curved meshes in two and three dimensions. The meshes are made of curved simplexes. The algorithm starts from a mesh made of straight simplexes, and using a linear elasticity analogy applied on well‐chosen data, one can generate a curved mesh. Note that if the initial mesh has a boundary layer, this method allows to conserve it on the final mesh.
