Families of completely positive maps associated with monotone metrics

An operator convex function on (0,∞)$(0,\infty )$ which satisfies the symmetry condition k(x⁻¹)=xk(x)$k(x^{-1})=xk(x)$ can be used to define a type of non-commutative multiplication by a positive definite matrix (or its inverse) using the primitive concepts of left and right multiplication and the functional calculus. The operators for the inverse can be used to define quadratic forms associated with Riemannian metrics which contract under the action of completely positive trace-preserving maps.     

A classification of maximal subsemigroups of finite order-preserving transformation semigroups

We describe the maximal subsemigroups of the semigroup of all order-preserving transformations of a finite chain and completely obtain their classification. We also count the number of its maximal subsemigroups.     

An optimal bound for inverses of triangular matrices with monotone entries

This article provides a new bound for 1-norms of inverses of positive triangular matrices with monotonic column entries. The main theorem refines a recent inequality established in Vecchio and Mallik [Bounds on the inverses of non-negative lower triangular Toeplitz matrices with monotonicity properties, Linear Multilinear Alg., 55 (2007), pp. 365–379]. The results are shown to be in a sense best possible under the given constraints.     

Self‐organized criticality of cellular automata model; absorbtion in finite‐time of supercritical region into the critical one

In this work, it is studied the evolution and time behavior of solutions to nonlinear diffusion equation in where , d ≥ 1, and H is the Heaviside function. For d = 1,2,3, this equation describes the dynamics of self‐organizing sandpile process with critical state ρ_c. The main conclusion is that the supercritical region is absorbed in a finite‐time in the critical region . Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Weighted Lp Estimates for Maximal Commutators of Multilinear Singular Integrals

This paper is concerned with the pointwise estimates for the sharp function of two kinds of maximal commutators of multilinear singular integral operators T∑b^＊ and TПb^＊ which are generalized by a weighted BMO function b and a multilinear singular integral operator T, respectively. As applications, some commutator theorems are established.
