In this paper, an original second‐order upwind scheme for convection terms is described and implemented in the context of a Control‐Volume Finite‐Element Method (CVFEM). The proposed scheme is a second‐order extension of the first‐order MAss‐Weighted upwind (MAW) scheme proposed by Saabas and Baliga (Numer. Heat Transfer 1994; 26B :381–407). The proposed second‐order scheme inherits the well‐known stability characteristics of the MAW scheme, but exhibits less artificial viscosity and ensures much higher accuracy. Consequently, and in contrast with nearly all second‐order upwind schemes available in the literature, the proposed second‐order MAW scheme does not need limiters. Some test cases including two pure convection problems, the driven cavity and steady and unsteady flows over a circular cylinder, have been undertaken successfully to validate the new scheme. The verification tests show that the proposed scheme exhibits a low level of artificial viscosity in the pure convection problems; exhibits second‐order accuracy for the driven cavity; gives accurate reattachment lengths for low‐Reynolds steady flow over a circular cylinder; and gives constant‐amplitude vortex shedding for the case of high‐Reynolds unsteady flow over a circular cylinder. A factorial analysis is conducted to explore the impact of five factors — aspect ratio, radius-to-thickness ratio, material anisotropy, fiber angle and integration order on the finite element accuracy, with regard to the application of 20-node isoparametric solid elements to clamped composite cylindrical shells subjected to internal pressure. The maximum radial displacement at the central cross-section is employed as the indicator of accuracy. Results from finite element methods were compared with closed-form solutions. Aspect ratio, radius-to- thickness ratio, and integration order are significant main effects as predicted for isotropic materials. Material anisotropy shows no significant main effect, while the fiber angle does have strong impact on the finite element accuracy. In addition to four influential main effects, some multiple-factor interactions are shown to have significant influences on the finite element accuracy. In a magnetic field, spin-ladders undergo two zero-temperature phase transitions at the critical fields Hc1 and Hc2. An experimental review of static and dynamical properties of spin-ladders close to these critical points is presented. The
scaling functions, universal to all quantum critical points in one-dimension, are extracted from (a) the thermodynamic quantities
(magnetization) and (b) the dynamical functions (NMR relaxation). A simple mapping of strongly coupled spin ladders in a magnetic
field on the exactly solvable XXZ model enables to make detailed fits and gives an overall understanding of a broad class of quantum magnets in their gapless
phase (between Hc1 and Hc2). In this phase, the low temperature divergence of the NMR relaxation demonstrates its Luttinger liquid nature as well as
the novel quantum critical regime at higher temperature. The general behavior close these quantum critical points can be tied
to known models of quantum magnetism.

The axisymmetric flows with swirl or rotation were solved by a hybrid scheme with lattice Boltzmann method for the axial and radial velocities and finite‐difference method for the azimuthal (or swirl) velocity and the temperature. An incompressible axisymmetric lattice Boltzmann D2Q9 model was proposed to solve the axial and radial velocities through inserting source terms into the two‐dimensional lattice Boltzmann equation. Present hybrid scheme was firstly validated by simulations of Taylor–Couette flows between two concentric cylinders. Then the benchmark problems of melt flow in Czochralski crystal growth were studied and accurate results were obtained. Numerical experiment demonstrated that present axisymmetric D2Q9 model is more stable than the previous axisymmetric D2Q9 model (J. Comp. Phys. 2003; 186 (1):295–307). Hence, compared with the previous model, present numerical method provides a significant advantage in simulation melt flow cases with high Reynolds number and high Grashof number. BEPCⅡ500MHz超导腔是BEPCⅡ储存环的关键设备,腔中高次模的分布和阻抗将很大程度上直接影响束流的稳定.因此,研究BEPCⅡ超导腔的高次模分布和高次模吸收器的吸收效果对实现BEPCⅡ指标至关重要.为此,通过改变高次模吸收器的位置、铁氧体吸收材料的长度、厚度以及腔的渐变过渡波导的角度等对BEPCⅡ超导腔高次模阻抗抑制进行了模拟优化研究,从而找到并确定了吸收器对高次模阻抗抑制的最优值.同时,为证实模拟计算结果的正确性,对BEPCⅡ超导模型腔进行了高次模分布和吸收测量,得到了与计算一致的结果.结果表明,经过细致优化腔的高次模吸收器,腔中大部分高次模被深度吸收了,那些具有潜在危险的高次模阻抗值降到了阈值以下,满足BEPCⅡ束流阻抗要求 相似文献
