We establish, for various scenarios, whether or not interruptible exact stationary sampling is possible when a finite-state Markov chain can only be viewed passively. In particular, we prove that such sampling is not possible using a single copy of the chain. Such sampling is possible when enough copies of the chain are available, and we provide an algorithm that terminates with probability one.  相似文献

A new lattice Boltzmann model for compressible perfect gas is proposed. The numerical example shows that it can be used to simulate shock wave and contact discontinuity. The results are comparable with those obtained by traditional methods. The ratio of specific heats γ may be chosen according to the requirement of problems. This paper is concerned with the classification of non-self-adjoint second-order difference equations. The relationship between the number of summable solutions of non-self-adjoint difference equations and that of the discrete linear Hamiltonian system is discussed. A classification for non-self-adjoint second-order difference equations is established, which is independent of the choice of the rotated half plane and the fixed point.  相似文献

In this paper we consider two linear differential systems on a time scale. Both systems depend linearly on a complex spectral parameter λ. We prove that if all solutions of these two systems are square integrable with respect to a given weight matrix for one value λ0, then this property is preserved for all complex values λ. This result extends and improves the corresponding continuous time statement, which was derived by Walker (1975) for two non‐hermitian linear Hamiltonian systems, to appropriate differential systems on arbitrary time scales. The result is new even in the purely discrete case, or in the scalar time scale case, as well as when both time scale systems coincide. The latter case also generalizes a limit circle invariance criterion for symplectic systems on time scales, which was recently derived by the authors.  相似文献

First we study several extremal problems on minimax, and prove that they are equivalent. Then we connect this result with the exact values of some approximation characteristics of diagonal operators in different settings, such as the best n-term approximation, the linear average and stochastic n-widths, and the Kolmogorov and linear n-widths. Most of these exact values were known before, but in terms of equivalence of these extremal problems, we present a unified approach to give them a direct proof.  相似文献

We formulate an abstract scheme for the randomization of Shar- kovskii-type theorems via transformation to the deterministic case. In particular, Sharkovskii-type theorems for scalar differential equations can be randomized in this way. A random version of the standard Sharkovskii theorem is presented explicitly. Many remarks, comments and illustrating examples are supplied.
