Recognition of the Finite Simple Groups F 4(2m) by Spectrum

The spectrum of a finite group is the set of its element orders. A finite group G is said to be recognizable by spectrum, if every finite group with the same spectrum as G is isomorphic to G. The purpose of the paper is to prove that for every natural m the finite simple Chevalley group F ₄(2 ^m ) is recognizable by spectrum.     

Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of Cauchy equation in the space of Schwartz distributions

We reformulate and prove the Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of Cauchy equation in the space of Schwartz tempered distributions and Fourier hyperfunctions.     

Vassiliev invariants for braids on surfaces

We show that Vassiliev invariants separate braids on a closed oriented surface, and we exhibit a universal Vassiliev invariant for these braids in terms of chord diagrams labeled by elements of the fundamental group of the surface.

     

Second order parabolic equations in Banach spaces with dynamic boundary conditions

In this paper, we exhibit a unified treatment of the mixed initial boundary value problem for second order (in time) parabolic linear differential equations in Banach spaces, whose boundary conditions are of a dynamical nature. Results regarding existence, uniqueness, continuous dependence (on initial data) and regularity of classical and strict solutions are established. Moreover, several examples are given as samples for possible applications.

用旋转法结合Fourier估计以及Littlewood-Paley理论给出了乘积空间上带粗糙核的极大奇异积分算子的Lp有界性.证明了对于Ω∈Lq(Sn-1×Sm1),其中q＞1,∫ sn-1Ω(x',y')dx'=0, y'∈Sm-1,∫ sm-1Ω(x',y')dy'=0, x'∈Sn-1,且b,h∈L∞(R1+),则积域上极大奇异积分算子T*(f)=supε1＞0,ε2＞0∫∫|u|＞ε1|v|＞ε2b(|u|)h (|v|)Ω(u',v')/|v|n|v|mf(x-u,y-v)dudv为Lp(Rn×Rm)有界,其中1＜p＜∞.从而改进了以往的结果.     

Analytic continuation and identities involving heat,Poisson, wave and Bessel kernels

In this article we use classical formulas involving the K–Bessel function in two variables to express the Poisson kernel on a Riemannian manifold in terms of the heat kernel. We then use the small time asymptotics of the heat kernel on certain Riemannian manifolds to obtain a meromorphic continuation of the associated Poisson kernel to all values of complex time with identifiable singularities. This result reproves in a different setting by different means a well–known theorem due to Duistermaat and Guillemin [DG 75]. Nonparametric estimation and adaptive control in a class of finite Markov decision chains

We consider a class of Markov decision processes withfinite state and action spaces which, essentially, is determined by the following condition: The state space isirreducible under the action of any stationary policy. However, except by this restriction, the transition law iscompletely unknown to the controller. In this context, we find a set of policies under which thefrequency estimators of the transition law are strongly consistent and then, this result is applied to constructadaptive asymptotically discount-optimal policies.Dedicated to Professor Truman O. ON DIRICHLET TYPE SPACES AND α-BLOCH SPACES IN THE UNIT BALL OF Cn

In this paper, the authors study the inclusion relations between Dirichlet type spaces DT and α-Bloch spacesβα by means of higher radial derivative. The strictness and the best possibility of the inclusion relations are shown with constructive methods.Furthermore, they sharpen one of the results when T = n, which proves that a conjecture in [7] is true.
