Optical inspection by internal reflection and spatial filtering

Some optical techniques for surface inspection applications are described. Paper texture is analyzed by a frustrated-total-internal-reflection method followed by spatial filtering of the diffracted pattern. Fibre-optics and micro-lenses are used to obtain a rugged and flexible sensor. Similar sensors are used for defect monitoring of roughly-polished surfaces. The practical aspects of sensor manufacture, speckle and vignetting considerations are discussed.     

The simple layer potential method of fundamental solutions for certain biharmonic problems

A novel formulation of the method of fundamental solutions for the numerical solution of plane biharmonic problems, based on the simple layer potential representation of Fichera, is presented. The applicability and accuracy of the method are demonstrated by examining its performance on a set of practical problems arising in Stokes fluid flow.     

A note on weighted buddy systems for dynamic storage allocation

In this paper we first show that the Shen and Peterson System [1] is a combination of two Fibonacci buddy systems [2, 3]. Then we present a generalized Shen and Peterson system. The generalized system has more flexibility in the generation of fixed size blocks. For the generalized system, the algorithm for the determination of the buddy of any released block is easier than that of the Shen and Peterson system.     

Fake double layers in double plasma devices

The double layer like potential jumps have been observed in a double plasma device. They do not correspond to a switching of plasma potential from one metastable state to another but are caused by the ionisation of a very minute amount of the gas that inevitably leaks into the system during the probe movement.     

Propagation of waves in a micropolar elastic layer with stretch immersed in an infinite liquid

The effect of liquid on the propagation of waves in a micropolar elastic layer with stretch has been investigated. The frequency and wave velocity equations for symmetric and antisymmetric vibrations are derived. Propagation of monochromatic waves in a micropolar elastic layer with stretch is discussed. Results of this analysis reduce to those without stretch.

文中用谐振子乘积基展开法求解了四体系统的Schrdinger方程.通过分析波函数及形状密度函数在多维坐标空间的分布,比较了四体全对称0⁺态,四体金对称0^－态和四体全反对称0⁺态,四体全反对称0^－态的结构和内部运动的差异;讨论了对称性的影响.     

THE EFFECTS OF ROUGHNESS CHANGE ON THE SURFACE LAYER OF THE ATMOSPHERE(Ⅰ)—THE VARIATIONS OF WIND SPEED AND SHEAR STRESS

A general four-layer structure linear theory for predicting the effects of arbitrarilydistributed roughness change on the variations of wind speed and shear stress in the surfacelayer of3D and2D atmospheres was presented.The results derived by the theory wereagreeable to the previous ones.     

Singularly perturbed problems with double singularity

A class of singularly perturbed initial and boundary value problems for systems of linear differential equations with singularities of various types is studied. The asymptotics of the solutions of these problems is constructed; in contrast to known results, it involves boundary layers of new types that are dependent not only on the spectrum of the limit operator. On Causes of Biological Efficiency of Low-Intensive Millimeter Waves

The process of the ions transport through the biological membrane is considered. A role of air microbubbles efficiently mixing a near-membrane liquid layer in the presence of a temperature gradient is pointed out. These circumstances result in lowering an energy barrier height of the transmembrane ion-transport. It is shown that even low-level irradiation by the millimeter waves creates the temperature gradient, which is enough for effective mixing of near-membrane liquid's layer. It is demonstrated that a process of restoration an equilibrium air-distribution in the intercellar medium after ceasing the microwave irradiation proceeds according to the diffusion mechanism, i.e. rather slow.
