Spectral bounds for Dirac operators on open manifolds

We extend several classical eigenvalue estimates for Dirac operators on compact manifolds to noncompact, even incomplete manifolds. This includes Friedrich’s estimate for manifolds with positive scalar curvature as well as the author’s estimate on surfaces.      

On the Caginalp system with dynamic boundary conditions and singular potentials

This article is devoted to the study of the Caginalp phase field system with dynamic boundary conditions and singular potentials. We first show that, for initial data in H ², the solutions are strictly separated from the singularities of the potential. This turns out to be our main argument in the proof of the existence and uniqueness of solutions. We then prove the existence of global attractors. In the last part of the article, we adapt well-known results concerning the Lojasiewicz inequality in order to prove the convergence of solutions to steady states.      

具有随机扰动和多重变时滞的神经网络稳定性分析

考虑了一个具有多重时变时滞的随机神经网络的全局渐近稳定性问题.通过构造Lyapunov-Krasovskii函数并运用广义Ito公式,得到了一个充分条件,条件保证了神经网络在随机扰动下的全局均方渐近稳定性.最后通过一个数值实例验证了结果的有效性.

Sufficient Conditions for Global Optimality of Bivalent Nonconvex Quadratic Programs with Inequality Constraints

We present sufficient conditions for the global optimality of bivalent nonconvex quadratic programs involving quadratic inequality constraints as well as equality constraints. By employing the Lagrangian function, we extend the global subdifferential approach, developed recently in Jeyakumar et al. (J. Glob. Optim., 2007, to appear; Math. Program. Ser. A, 2007, to appear) for studying bivalent quadratic programs without quadratic constraints, and derive global optimality conditions. The Rasmussen invariants and the sharper slice-Bennequin inequality on knots

Rasmussen introduced a knot invariant based on Khovanov homology theory, and showed that this invariant estimates the four-genus of knots. We compare his result with the sharper slice-Bennequin inequality for knots. Then we obtain a similar estimate of the Rasmussen invariant for this inequality.     

Some inequalities for characteristic functions. II

Recently we established Matysiak and Szablowski's conjecture [V. Matysiak, P.J. Szablowski, Theory Probab. Appl. 45 (2001) 711-713] about a lower bound of real-valued characteristic functions. In this paper, applying an alternative approach we are able to give explicitly the ranges of argument for which the obtained inequalities hold true for general characteristic functions.
