Illuminating Molecular Processes in Living Cells

Lately, scientists have explored approaches to developing fluorescent and/or bioluminescent indicators to pinpoint cellular processes in single living cells. These analytical methods have become a key technology for visualizing and detecting what was otherwise unseen in live cells. The target signaling included second messengers, protein phosphorylations, protein–protein interactions, and protein localizations.     

Account for Energy Accommodation in Calculating the Heat Transfer between Coaxial Cylinders

A dependence of the heat transfer between coaxial cylinders on the energy accommodation coefficient is obtained. The known methods of solving a kinetic equation are compared.     

TiO2∶Mo体系的光子雪崩上转换

在 978nm激光二极管的激发下 ,Mo掺杂的TiO2 材料表现出很强的宽带上转换发光 ,该发光来源于 [MoO4]2 - 基团的激发态3T1 ,3T2 能级到基态1 A1 能级的电子跃迁 .通过研究发光强度与抽运功率的关系及上转换发光的上升时间曲线 ,发现TiO2 ∶Mo体系的上转换发光中存在着雪崩机制 ,应用转换函数理论分析了光子雪崩的产生条件和主要特征 ,理论结果和实验数据很好地符合     

Bis(pentafluorophenyl) disulfide as a hydrogen abstractor and an electron acceptor from the resulting radical intermediate

The pentafluorobenzenethiyl radical is an efficient hydrogen abstractor from an activated methylene or methine group and bis(pentafluorophenyl) disulfide is an efficient electron acceptor from the resulting radical intermediate. Thus benzyl-OTBS ether was easily converted into the corresponding pinacol, and 2-phenyl-1,3-dioxanes are converted into the monobenzoates of diols.     

Synthesis and characterization of liquid crystalline side‐chain block copolymers containing luminescent 4,4′‐bis(biphenyl)fluorene pendants

A series of new liquid crystalline homopolymers, copolymers, and block copolymers were polymerized from styrene‐macroinitiator ( SMi ) and methacrylates with pendent 4,4′‐bis(biphenyl)fluorene ( M1 ) and biphenyl‐4‐ylfluorene ( M2 ) groups through atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The number‐average molecular weights (Mn) of polymers P1 ‐ P4 were 10,007, 14,852, 6,275, and 10,463 g mol^?1 with polydispersity indices values of 1.21, 1.15, 1.31, and 1.22, respectively. All polymers exhibit the nematic phase. The thermal, mesogenic, and photoluminescent properties of all polymers were investigated. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Photochemical deprotection of nitro-substituted benzenesulfenates via photoinduced electron transfer

The photochemical deprotection of alkyl 2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfenate or alkyl 2-nitrobenzenesulfenate was successfully achieved by addition of triethylamine, while it was unsuccessful without triethylamine. The sulfur-oxygen bond cleavage is thought to occur heterolytically in the sulfenate anion radical produced by photoinduced electron transfer with triethylamine.     

Investigation on ultrafast thrid—order optical nonlinearity of metal（dmit）2／mnt）2 Charge transfer complexes

We have investigated the transient third-order optical nonlinearity of the solutions of Metal(dmit)2/(mnt)2 salts in acetone by employing femtosecond optical Kerr gate measurement at 830nm wavelength.An order of enhancement on the second-order hyperppolarizability is found for the above salts with central atoms of Cu and Ni.We have suggested an explanation for the enhancement based on the extension of electronic conjugation by the entring Cu or Ni atom.     

CCD相机调制传递函数测试软件的研制

数学傅立叶分析法是测量调制传递函数常用的一种方法，为了迅速地给出采用该方法进行调制传递函数测试的结果，针对刀口扫描测试CCD相机调制传递函数的测试系统研制了测试软件。软件可读入CCD相机摄取的数字图像文件，对数据进行消噪声处理，并自动识别刀口位置，选择合适区域计算出相机的调制传递函数。软件采用VC语言编制，结果以列表和曲线两种形式输出，用户界面良好，使用方便。利用该软件得到的测试结果与俄罗斯软件的计算结果吻合较好。
