Evaluation of Orbital- and Ground State Energies of Some Open- and Closed-Shell Atoms over Integer and Noninteger Slater Type Orbitals

Ab initio calculations of the orbital and the ground state energies of some open- and closed-shell atoms over Slater type orbitals with quantum numbers integer and Slater type orbitals with quantum numbers noninteger have been performed. In order to increase the efficiency of these calculations the atomic two-electron integrals were expressed in terms of incomplete beta function. Results were observed to be in good agreement with the literature.     

A subjective Bayesian approach to the theory of queues II — Inference and information in M/M/1 queues

This is a sequel to Part I of A Subjective Bayesian Approach to the Theory of Queues. The focus here is on inference and a use of Shannon's measure of information for assessing the amount of information conveyed by the various types of data from queues. The notation and terminology used here is established in Part I.     

The chemistry of electrogenerated transition metals species - the insertion of olefins into a nickelcarbon bond

The nickel(1) complex, Ni(teta)⁺, formed by cathodic reduction of the corresponding nickel(11) complex, reacts rapidly with alkyl bromides to form an unstable intermediate containing a nickelcarbon bond. When the electrolysis medium also contains an activated olefin an insertion reaction occurs. The new metalcarbon bond is cleaved by further reduction and overall the reduction of Ni(teta)²⁺ in the presence of RBr and CH₂CHY leads to high yiels of RCH₂CH₂Y.

The impact of LIMS design and functionality on laboratory quality achievements

 A laboratory information management system (LIMS) can make a major contribution to the quality and therefore to the efficiency and competitiveness of a laboratory. Since it can impact all aspects of a laboratory's organization it must be the key if not the principal player of the laboratory's quality system. It should support the laboratory in establishing, maintaining and applying quality procedures thereby enabling the laboratory to achieve its quality goals. As a tool, LIMS permits the laboratory to input and use its own know-how and experience to optimize the total organization (internal and external) and workflow of generated information. However, perceived "quality" in the context of an LIMS, can be viewed as being made up of different facets such as the security, reliability and accessibility of information as well as its turn around time and production cost. This paper reviews the role of a LIMS in the laboratory and the contribution that both system design and functionality can have on "building quality ". A new approach for the derivation of bounds for the Jensen difference

There are many useful applications of Jensen's inequality in several fields of science, and due to this reason, a lot of results are devoted to this inequality in the literature. The main theme of this article is to present a new method of finding estimates of the Jensen difference for differentiable functions. By applying definition of convex function, and integral Jensen's inequality for concave function in the identity pertaining the Jensen difference, we derive bounds for the Jensen difference. We present integral version of the bounds in Riemann sense as well. The sharpness of the proposed bounds through examples are discussed, and we conclude that the proposed bounds are better than some existing bounds even with weaker conditions. Also, we present some new variants of the Hermite–Hadamard and Hölder inequalities and some new inequalities for geometric, quasi-arithmetic, and power means. Finally, we give some applications in information theory.     

基于主被动合作博弈的医患关系研究

针对我国医患关系日趋紧张,医患矛盾逐渐凸显这一问题,在对中国近五年医患事件进行分析的基础上,分别从信任程度、信息不对称程度、诊疗代价等多个视角出发,利用演化博弈理论和复制动态方程,构建了医患双方合作策略选择演化博弈模型,探究了影响医患关系演化的相关因素。研究表明:从长期来看,医患关系博弈系统存在两种演化路径:主动合作和被动合作;增大医患双方的信任程度,减小医患双方的信息不对称程度,降低医患双方合作成本,增大以政府为主导的仲裁机构对医患双方的奖励和惩罚都将会促使医患双方由被动合作转向主动合作。     

Learning to align organizational design and data

The relationship between organizational learning and organizational design is explored. In particular, we examine the information processing aspects of organizational learning as they apply to a two-valued decision making task and the relation of such aspects to organizational structure. Our primary contribution is to extend Carley's (1992) model of this process. The original model assumes that all data input into the decision making processes are of equal importance or weight in determining the correct overall organizational decision. The extension described here allows for the more natural situation of non-uniform weights of evidence. Further extensions to the model are also discussed. Such organizational learning performance measures provide an interesting framework for analyzing the recent trend towards flatter organizational structures. This research suggests that flatter structures are not always better, but rather that data environment, ultimate performance goals, and relative need for speed in learning can be used to form a contingency model for choosing organizational structure.     

Fluorinated polysilanes. Palladium catalyzed 1,4-addition of fluorodisilanes to conjugated diene and enone systems

In the presence of palladium complexes as catalysts, fluorinated disilanes add to 1,3-dienes, metehyl vinyl ketone and p-benzoquinone to give mainly 1,4-addition products.     

Synthesis and applications of photochromic fulgides in optical information storages

A pyrryl substituted photocbromic fulgide, (1-p-methoxyphenyl-2-methyl-5-phenyl)-3-pyrryl-ethylidene (isopropylidene) succinic anhydride, was synthesized. Its chemical structure was identified by IR, 1H NMR MS and elemental analysis. The title compound was used to prepare the optical disks by the spin coating method and the vacuum evaporation method. The results of the static state examination show that the optical disks prepared with this kind of molecules possess excellent thermal stability and fatigue resistance, i.e. over 450 writing-erasing recycles, the relative contrast between writing state and erasing state remains at 40%.
