The high-yielding synthesis of enantiomerically pure epicatechin gallate analogues where the A and/or B-ring hydroxylation is reduced or altered has been achieved by optimising routes to the catechin stereochemistry. The B-ring analogues were synthesised by using an electrophilic ring closure onto an enantiomerically enriched epoxide as a key step. The A and B-ring hydroxyl-deleted analogues were synthesised through a Mitsunobu cyclisation. For the B-ring analogues, the anti- (catechin) stereochemistry was converted to the syn- (epicatechin) stereochemistry by a known oxidation/reduction protocol. Absolute stereochemistry was derived from either a Sharpless epoxidation or asymmetric dihydroxylation.  相似文献

Powdered Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) and PBAs confined in ordered mesoporous silica monoliths were used as oxide precursors through thermal treatment under an oxidizing atmosphere. The study focuses on the transformation of the alkali cation-free CoCo PBA of chemical formula K0.1CoII4[CoIII(CN)6]2.7·20 H2O. The compounds were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), IR spectroscopy and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and the magnetic properties of the calcined samples were investigated. In both cases, powdered and confined PBAs, the coordination polymers are transformed into well-crystallized Co3O4 spinel oxide. In the case of the confined PBA, isolated Co3O4 single crystals confined within the ordered mesoporosity of the monoliths were evidenced by HRTEM. A preliminary study shows an effect of particle size and confinement on the magnetic properties of the confined oxide particles.  相似文献

Chlorination of various HPLC fractions of C96 with a mixture of VCl4 and SbCl5 at 340–360 °C and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study of the products led to the identification of three new IPR isomers of C96. The C96(175) isomer forms a stable chloride, C96(175)Cl20, while chlorides of two other new isomers, C96(114) and C96(80), undergo cage shrinkage yielding C94(NC1)Cl28 and C96(NC2)Cl32 with non‐classical (NC) cages. These two NC chlorides contain, respectively, one and two heptagons flanked by pairs of fused pentagons and are stabilized by chlorine attachment to the emerging pentagon–pentagon junctions. Thus, the number of the experimentally confirmed C96 isomers has reached nine, which corroborates the empirical rule that the C6n fullerenes exhibit particularly rich isomerism.  相似文献

Cube-like double four-ring (d4r) cages are among the most frequent building units of zeolites and zeotypes. In materials synthesised in fluoride-containing media, the fluoride anions are preferentially incorporated in these cages. In order to study the impact of framework composition and organic structure-directing agents (OSDAs) on the possible occurrence of local distortions of fluoride-containing d4r cages, density functional theory (DFT) calculations and DFT-based molecular dynamics simulations were performed for AST-type zeotypes, considering four different compositions (SiO2, GeO2, AlPO4, GaPO4) and two different OSDA cations (tetramethylammonium [TMA] and quinuclidinium [QNU]). All systems except SiO2-AST show significant deformations, with a pyritohedron-like distortion of the d4r cages occurring in GeO2- and GaPO4-AST, and a displacement of the fluoride anions towards one of the corners of the cage in AlPO4- and GaPO4-AST. While the distortions occur at random in TMA-containing zeotypes, they exhibit a preferential orientation in systems that incorporate QNU cations. In addition to providing detailed understanding of the local structure of a complex host-guest system on the picosecond timescale, this work indicates the possibility to stabilise ordered distortions through a judicious choice of the OSDA, which might enable a tuning of the material's properties.  相似文献

Nutraceuticals and functional foods are gaining more attention amongst consumers interested in nutritious food. The consumption of foodstuffs with a high content of phytochemicals has been proven to provide various health benefits. The application of biostimulants is a potential strategy to fortify cultivated plants with beneficial bioactive compounds. Nevertheless, it has not yet been established whether the proposed higher plants (St. John’s wort, giant goldenrod, common dandelion, red clover, nettle, and valerian) are appropriate for the production of potential bio-products enhancing the nutritional value of white cabbage. Therefore, this research examines the impact of botanical extracts on the growth and nutritional quality of cabbage grown under field conditions. Two extraction methods were used for the production of water-based bio-products, namely: ultrasound-assisted extraction and mechanical homogenisation. Bio-products were applied as foliar sprays to evaluate their impact on total yield, dry weight, photosynthetic pigments, polyphenols, antioxidant activity, vitamin C, nitrates, micro- and macroelements, volatile compounds, fatty acids, sterols, and sugars. Botanical extracts showed different effects on the examined parameters. The best results in terms of physiological and biochemical properties of cabbage were obtained for extracts from common dandelion, valerian, nettle, and giant goldenrod. When enriched with nutrients, vegetables can constitute a valuable component of functional food.  相似文献

Anti-virulence strategy is currently considered a promising approach to overcome the global threat of the antibiotic resistance. Among different bacterial virulence factors, the biofilm formation is recognized as one of the most relevant. Considering the high and growing percentage of multi-drug resistant infections that are biofilm-mediated, new therapeutic agents capable of counteracting the formation of biofilms are urgently required. In this scenario, a new series of 18 thiazole derivatives was efficiently synthesized and evaluated for its ability to inhibit biofilm formation against the Gram-positive bacterial reference strains Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and S. aureus ATCC 6538 and the Gram-negative strain Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 15442. Most of the new compounds showed a marked selectivity against the Gram-positive strains. Remarkably, five compounds exhibited BIC50 values against S. aureus ATCC 25923 ranging from 1.0 to 9.1 µM. The new compounds, affecting the biofilm formation without any interference on microbial growth, can be considered promising lead compounds for the development of a new class of anti-virulence agents.  相似文献

The convenient route for the synthesis of a series of new Isoindoline-1, 3-dione/phthalimide analogues by condensation of substituted phthalic anhydride with an appropriate Ar-amine is described. Selective phthalimide derivatives were evaluated for their preliminary biological activities against Gram-positive, Gram-negative and fungi strains. These encouraging results could be helpful for the development of new antibacterial or antifungal agents.  相似文献

Four synthetic farnesyl diphosphate analogues were enzymatically converted with three bacterial sesquiterpene synthases, including β-himachalene synthase (HcS) and (Z)-γ-bisabolene synthase (BbS) from Cryptosporangium arvum, and germacrene A synthase (SmTS6) from Streptomyces mobaraensis. These enzyme reactions not only yielded several previously unknown compounds, showing that this approach opened the door to a new chemical space, but substrates with blocked or altered reactivities also gave interesting insights into the cyclisation mechanisms and the potential to catalyse reactions with different initial cyclisation modes.  相似文献

In the race towards miniaturization in nanoelectronics, magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have emerged as potential candidates for their integration in ultrahigh‐density recording media. Molecular‐based materials open the possibility to design new tailor‐made MNPs with variable composition and sizes, which benefit from the intrinsic properties of these materials. Before their implementation in real devices is reached, a precise organization on surfaces and a reliable characterization and manipulation of their individual magnetic behavior are required. In this paper, it is demonstrated how molecular‐based MNPs are accurately organized on surfaces and how the magnetic properties of the individual MNPs are detected and tuned by means of low‐temperature magnetic force microscopy (LT‐MFM) with variable magnetic field. The magnetization reversal on isolated and organized MNPs is investigated; in addition, the temperature dependence of their magnetic response is evaluated.  相似文献

A class of 2D covalent organic polymers (COPs) incorporating a metal (such as Fe, Co, Mn) with precisely controlled locations of nitrogen heteroatoms and holes were synthesized from various N‐containing metal–organic complexes (for example, metal–porphyrin complexes) by a nickel‐catalyzed Yamamoto reaction. Subsequent carbonization of the metal‐incorporated COPs led to the formation of COP‐derived graphene analogues, which acted as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction in both alkaline and acid media with a good stability and free from any methanol‐crossover/CO‐poisoning effects.  相似文献
