The propagation of surface acoustic waves in a layered half-space is investigated in this paper, where a thin cubic Ge film is perfectly bonded to an isotropic elastic Si half-space. Application of the transfer matrix and by solving the coupled field equations, solutions to the mechanical displacements are obtained for the film and elastic substrate, respectively. The phase velocity equations for surface acoustic waves are obtained. Effects of the homogeneous initial stresses induced by the mismatch of the film and substrate are discussed in detail. The results are useful for the design of acoustic surface wave devices.  相似文献

Solutions of the problem of reflection of a stepwise pressure wave in a linearly compressed fluid from a flat boundary of a porous medium of infinite length saturated by the same fluid are obtained in the acoustic approximation. The paper deals with the plane problem of steady-state time harmonic vibrations of an infinite elastic plate resting on a water-saturated porous solid. The displacements of the plate are described by means of the linear theory of small elastic oscillations. The motion of the two-phase medium is studied within the framework of Biot's linear theory of consolidation. The main interest is focused on the investigation of properties of the Rayleigh-type waves propagating alongside of the contact surface between the plate and the porous half-space. In particular, the dependence of the phase velocity and attenuation of the waves on the plate stiffness, mass coupling coefficient, and degree of saturation of the medium is studied. Besides, for the limiting case of an infinitely thin plate, the comparison of the wave characteristics is carried out with those of the pure Rayleigh waves.  相似文献

This study aims to establish a generalized radiation condition for time-harmonic elastodynamic states in a piecewise-homogeneous, semi-infinite solid wherein the “bottom” homogeneous half-space is overlain by an arbitrary number of bonded parallel layers. To consistently deal with both body and interfacial (e.g. Rayleigh, Love and Stoneley) waves comprising the far-field patterns, the radiation condition is formulated in terms of an integral over a sufficiently large hemisphere involving elastodynamic Green's functions for the featured layered medium. On explicitly proving the reciprocity identity for the latter set of point-load solutions, it is first shown that the layered Green's functions themselves satisfy the generalized radiation condition. By virtue of this result it is further demonstrated that the entire class of layered elastodynamic solutions, admitting a representation in terms of the single-layer, double-layer, and volume potentials (distributed over finite domains), satisfy the generalized radiation condition as well. For a rigorous treatment of the problem, fundamental results such as the uniqueness theorem for radiating elastodynamic states, Graffi's reciprocity theorem for piecewise-homogeneous domains, and the integral representation theorem for semi-infinite layered media are also established.  相似文献

The contact interaction of two elastic isotropic half-spaces is analyzed. One of the half-spaces has a smooth shallow depression, resulting in an imperfect contact of the surfaces. The contact gap is assumed filled with a real gas. Gas–liquid transition due to variation in the external load and temperature is considered. The plane problem formulated is solved by the method of contact-gap functions. The effect of the filler and its phase transition on the width and depth of the gap and the contact pressure is studied  相似文献

The linearized theory of elasticity for prestressed bodies is used to solve a stationary plane problem for a prestressed two-layer half-space under a surface load moving with constant velocity. The half-space is assumed to be compressible and to have an arbitrary elastic potential. We solve the problem of the behavior of a gas plasma in a half-space analytically using the kinetic equation with the collision rate proportional to the modulus of the electron velocity. The plasma is in a variable external electric field. The specular reflection of electrons from the plasma boundary is used as a boundary condition. With the aid of the macroscopic dielectric continuum and Loudon’s uniaxial crystal models, the propagating (PR) and half-space (HS) optical phonon modes and corresponding Fröhlich-like electron-phonon interaction Hamiltonians in a quasi-one-dimensionality (Q1D) wurtzite quantum well wire (QWW) structure are derived and studied. Numerical calculations on a wurtzite GaN/Al0.15Ga0.85N QWW are performed, and discussion is focused mainly on the dependence of the frequency dispersions of PR and HS modes on the free wave-number k z in the z-direction and on the azimuthal quantum number m. The calculated results show that, for given k z and m, there usually exist infinite branches of PR and HS modes in the high-frequency range, and only finite branches of HS modes in the low-frequency range in wurtzite QWW systems. The reducing behaviors of the PR modes to HS modes, and of the HS mode to interface phonon mode have been observed clearly in Q1D wurtzite heterostructures. Moreover, the dispersive properties of the PR and HS modes in Q1D QWWs have been compared with those in Q2D quantum well structures. The underlying physical reasons for these features have also been analyzed in depth.  相似文献
