On a hidden symmetry of quantum harmonic oscillators

We consider a six-parameter family of the square integrable wave functions for the simple harmonic oscillator, which cannot be obtained by the standard separation of variables. They are given by the action of the corresponding maximal kinematical invariance group on the standard solutions. In addition, the phase space oscillations of the electron position and linear momentum probability distributions are computer animated and some possible applications are briefly discussed. A visualization of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle is presented.     

On some Fermat rules for set-valued optimization problems

The aim of this article is to obtain necessary optimality conditions for Pareto minima in set-valued optimization problems. We employ a new method to derive generalized Fermat rules for set-valued optimization. This method is based on openness results for multifunctions and allows recovery of a large number of results and, at the same time, getting several new ones.     

Measure and integration: The basic extension and representation theorems in terms of new inner and outer envelopes

The work of the author in measure and integration is based on new inner and outer envelope formations, which replace the traditional Carathéodory outer measure and certain simple suprema and infima. The new formations lead to essential improvements in both the extent and the adequacy of the basic results. However, they did not find an entrance into the recent textbook literature. The present paper seeks to demonstrate their power with the examples of the basic inner and outer extension and representation theorems for set functions and functionals.     

State space approach to magnetohydrodynamic flow of perfectly conducting micropolar fluid with stretch

In this work we introduce a model of the boundary layer equations for a perfect conducting micropolar fluid with stretch, bounded by an infinite vertical flat plane surface of a constant temperature. This model is applied to study the effects of free convection currents on the flow of the fluid in the presence of a constant magnetic field. The state space technique is adopted for the solution of a one‐dimensional problem for any set of boundary conditions. The resulting formulation together with the Laplace transform techniques are applied to a thermal shock problem. The inversion of the Laplace transforms is carried out using a numerical approach. Hypercomplex analysis and integration of systems of ordinary differential equations

We review the theory of hypercomplex numbers and hypercomplex analysis with the ultimate goal of applying them to issues related to the integration of systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). We introduce the notion of hypercomplexification, which allows the lifting of some results known for scalar ODEs to systems of ODEs. In particular, we provide another approach to the construction of superposition laws for some Riccati‐type systems, we obtain invariants of Abel‐type systems, we derive integrable Ermakov systems through hypercomplexification, we address the problem of linearization by hypercomplexification, and we provide a solution to the inverse problem of the calculus of variations for some systems of ODEs. Gauss’ law of error revisited in the framework of Sharma-Taneja-Mittal information measure

We reformulate the Gauss’ law of error in presence of correlations which are taken into account by means of a deformed product arising in the framework of the Sharma-Taneja-Mittal measure. Having reviewed the main proprieties of the generalized product and its related algebra, we derive, according to the Maximum Likelihood Principle, a family of error distributions with an asymptotic power-law behavior.      

Construction of Multivariate Tight Framelet Packets Associated with Dilation Matrix

In this paper, we present a method for constructing multivariate tight framelet packets associated with an arbitrary dilation matrix using unitary extension principles.We also prove how to construct various tight frames for L2(Rd) by replac-ing some mother framelets.
