For gradient maps, these generalized monotonicity properties can be related to generalized convexity properties of the underlying function. A New Generalized Riccati Equation Rational Expansion Method to Generalized Burgers-Fisher Equation with Nonlinear Terms of Any Order

In this paper, based on a new more general ansatz, a new algebraic method, named generalized Riccati equation rational expansion method, is devised for constructing travelling wave solutions for nonlinear evolution equations with nonlinear terms of any order. Compared with most existing tanh methods for finding travelling wave solutions, the proposed method not only recovers the results by most known algebraic methods, but also provides new and more general solutions. We choose the generalized Burgers-Fisher equation with nonlinear terms of any order to illustrate our method. As a result, we obtain several new kinds of exact solutions for the equation. This approach can also be applied to other nonlinear evolution equations with nonlinear terms of any order.

Gap Functions and Existence of Solutions to Generalized Vector Quasi-Equilibrium Problems

This paper deals with generalized vector quasi-equilibrium problems. By virtue of a nonlinear scalarization function, the gap functions for two classes of generalized vector quasi-equilibrium problems are obtained. Then, from an existence theorem for a generalized quasi-equilibrium problem and a minimax inequality, existence theorems for two classes of generalized vector quasi-equilibrium problems are established. Upper bounds on the entropy of radiation systems

The upper bounds on the entropy of a radiation system confined to a spherical box are calculated in six cases by using the equation of state of radiation in flat spacetime and the equation of state of radiation near black-hole horizon, which was derived by Li and Liu (hereafter the Li-Liu equation). It turns out that the Li-Liu equation does have unique advantage in dealing with the entropy bound of critical self-gravitating radiation systems, while the usual equation of state will result in entropy divergence. In the case of non-self-gravitating radiation systems and non-critical self-gravitating radiation systems, there is no difference in the entropy bounds derived by these two equations of state.

A General Duality Scheme for Nonconvex Minimization Problems with a Strict Inequality Constraint

We establish a duality formula for the problem Minimize f(x)+g(x) for h(x)+k(x)<0 where g, k are extended-real-valued convex functions and f, h belong to the class of functions that can be written as the lower envelope of an arbitrary family of convex functions. Applications in d.c. and Lipschitzian optimization are given.
