Bootstrap percolation provides an emblematic instance of phase behavior characterised by an abrupt transition with diverging critical fluctuations. This unusual hybrid situation generally occurs in particle systems in which the occupation probability of a site depends on the state of its neighbours through a certain threshold parameter. In this paper we investigate the phase behavior of the bootstrap percolation on the regular random graph in the limit in which the threshold parameter and lattice connectivity become both increasingly large while their ratio α is held constant. We find that the mixed phase behavior is preserved in this limit, and that multiple transitions and higher-order bifurcation singularities occur when α becomes a random variable.https://doi.org/10.1209/0295-5075/109/36001  相似文献

Using standard Einstein theory, baryonic mass cannot account for observed galactic rotation velocities and gravitational lensing, attributed to galactic dark-matter halos. In contrast, theory constrained by Weyl conformal scaling symmetry explains observed galactic rotation in the halo region without invoking dark matter. An explanation of dark halos, gravitational lensing, and structural stabilization, without dark matter and consistent with conformal theory, is proposed here. Condensation of uniform primordial matter into a material cloud or galaxy vacates a large surrounding spherical halo. Within such an extended vacancy in the original cosmic background mass-energy density, conformal theory predicts centripetal acceleration of the observed magnitude.https://doi.org/10.1209/0295-5075/109/59001  相似文献

We have studied the phase diagram of a mixed monolayer system of4-n-octyl-4-cyanobiphenyl (8CB) and stearic acid (SA) atthe air-water interface by surface manometry and optical microscopic techniques. We found that in the mixture, a liquid condensed phase(also known as ) was induced which does not occur in the monolayersof the individual components. The induction occurs over a large range ofmolar concentrations viz. 3% to 95% of SA in 8CB. Moreinterestingly, we observed a phase separation of the liquid expanded (LE)phase (also known as ) into an 8CB-rich LE phase and an SA-rich LEphase for molar concentrations in the range 55% to 95% of SA in 8CB. We employ two different methods, based on belief propagation and TAP,for decoding corrupted messages encoded by employing Sourlas's method,where the code word comprises products of K bits selected randomlyfrom the original message. We show that the equations obtained by thetwo approaches are similar and provide the same solution as the oneobtained by the replica approach in some cases (K=2). We investigate the effects of quenched randomness on the universalproperties of a two-temperature lattice gas. The disorder modifies thedynamical transition rates of the system in an anisotropic fashion, givingrise to a new fixed point. We determine the associated scaling form of thestructure factor, quoting critical exponents to two-loop order in anexpansion around the upper critical dimension . Defining a spin connection is necessary for formulating Dirac's bispinor equation in a curved space-time. Hestenes has shown that a bispinor field is equivalent to an orthonormal tetrad of vector fields together with a complex scalar field. In this paper, we show that using Hestenes' tetrad for the spin connection in a Riemannian space-time leads to a Yang-Mills formulation of the Dirac Lagrangian in which the bispinor field Ψ is mapped to a set of SL(2,RU(1) gauge potentials FαK and a complex scalar field ρ. This result was previously proved for a Minkowski space-time using Fierz identities. As an application we derive several different non-Riemannian spin connections found in the literature directly from an arbitrary linear connection acting on the tensor fields (FαK, ρ). We also derive spin connections for which Dirac's bispinor equation is form invariant. Previous work has not considered form invariance of the Dirac equation as a criterion for defining a general spin connection.  相似文献
