建立省级基础地理信息数据库,必然要设计和开发基础地理信息数据库管理系统,并解决大数据量、多种类型空间数据的集成管理问题.介绍和讨论最近完成的浙江省基础地理信息数据库(1:10 000示范库)管理系统中诸如系统总体框架、系统功能、空间数据库结构、海量多源数据组织、空间索引建立等有关技术问题.试验结果确定了比较合适的空间索引数据,从而获得了对海量数据较好的访问性能,示范库的建设工作达到了预期的目的.     

Have women's voices lowered across time? A cross sectional study of Australian women's voices

Various aspects of our communication are well known to havechanged over time (1-3). This article describes a cross-sectional study that examined the acoustic characteristics of two groups of Australian women aged 18–25 years from recordings made in 1945 and 1993 and investigated the possible changes in the voice across generations. Archival recordings from 1945 which had been used in a longitudinal study (4) were compared to recordings made in 1993. The results of this study show that women in 1993 have significantly deeper voices than women of the same age recorded in 1945. The possible factors influencing this change are discussed.     

Laser diode pumped LNYAB self-frequency-doubling lasers

The LNYAB self-doubling laser pumped by (LD) has been developed for the first time. The properties of the lasers are much better than those of NYAB self-doubling lasers pumped by LD. The LNYAB self-doubling laser pumped by LD can be operated in TEM_(00) mode with threshold pumping power of 3.6mW which is lower than that of LD pumped NYAB self-doubling lasers by 74%. The output power is 29mW at 0.531μm in green region with optical-to-optical efficiency of 4.8% which is higher than that of NYAB self-doubling laser by 20%.

Parametric Statistical Uncertainty Relations and Parametric Statistical Fundamental Equations

Multivariate parametric statistical uncertainty relations are proved to specify multivariate basic parametric statistical models. The relations are expressed by inequalities. They generally show that we cannot exactly determine simultaneously both a function of observation objects and a parametric statistical model in a compound parametric statistical system composed of observations and a model. As special cases of the relations, statistical fundamental equations are presented which are obtained as the conditions of attainment of the equality sign in the relations. Making use of the result, a generalized multivariate exponential family is derived as a family of minimum uncertainty distributions. In the final section, several multivariate distributions are derived as basic multivariate parametric statistical models.
