On the Elliptic Equation △u ＋ K（x）e^2u -0 with K（x） Positive Somewhere

This paper considers the existence problem of an elliptic equation.which is equivalent to the prescribing conformal Gaussian curvature problem on R2.An existence result is pried.In particular,K(x)is allowed to be unbounded above.     

Generalized Bergman kernels on symplectic manifolds

We study the near diagonal asymptotic expansion of the generalized Bergman kernel of the renormalized Bochner-Laplacian on high tensor powers of a positive line bundle over a compact symplectic manifold. We show how to compute the coefficients of the expansion by recurrence and give a closed formula for the first two of them. As a consequence, we calculate the density of states function of the Bochner-Laplacian and establish a symplectic version of the convergence of the induced Fubini-Study metric. We also discuss generalizations of the asymptotic expansion for non-compact or singular manifolds as well as their applications. Our approach is inspired by the analytic localization techniques of Bismut and Lebeau.     

Existence and Concentration of Ground States of Coupled Nonlinear Schr(o)dinger Equations with Bounded Potentials

A 2-coupled nonlinear Schr(o)dinger equations with bounded varying potentials and strongly attractive interactions is considered.When the attractive interaction is strong enough,the existence of a ground state for sufficiently small Planck constant is proved.As the Planck constant approaches zero,it is proved that one of the components concentrates at a minimum point of the ground state energy function which is defined in Section 4.     

The Three Gap Theorem and Riemannian geometry

The classical Three Gap Theorem asserts that for a natural number n and a real number p, there are at most three distinct distances between consecutive elements in the subset of [0,1) consisting of the reductions modulo 1 of the first n multiples of p. Regarding it as a statement about rotations of the circle, we find results in a similar spirit pertaining to isometries of compact Riemannian manifolds and the distribution of points along their geodesics.      

Analytic structure of dynamical systems

The study of the analytic structure of nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations is shown to provide a unified approach to determining their properties and finding their solutions. A course of lectures delivered at the School on Chaos and Nonlinear Dynamics held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India (June 24th–July 18th 1987)

Double Hopf bifurcation for van der Pol-Duffing oscillator with parametric delay feedback control

The stability and bifurcation of a van der Pol-Duffing oscillator with the delay feedback are investigated, in which the strength of feedback control is a nonlinear function of delay. A geometrical method in conjunction with an analytical method is developed to identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcations. The Hopf bifurcation curves and multi-stable regions are obtained as two parameters vary. Some weak resonant and non-resonant double Hopf bifurcation phenomena are observed due to the vanishing of the real parts of two pairs of characteristic roots on the margins of the “death island” regions simultaneously. By applying the center manifold theory, the normal forms near the double Hopf bifurcation points, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, some quasi-periodic and chaotic motions are verified in both theoretical and numerical ways.     

The structure of some classes of <Emphasis Type="Italic">K</Emphasis>-contact manifolds

We study projective curvature tensor in K-contact and Sasakian manifolds. We prove that (1) if a K-contact manifold is quasi projectively flat then it is Einstein and (2) a K-contact manifold is ξ-projectively flat if and only if it is Einstein Sasakian. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a K-contact manifold to be quasi projectively flat and φ-projectively flat are obtained. We also prove that for a (2n + 1)-dimensional Sasakian manifold the conditions of being quasi projectively flat, φ-projectively flat and locally isometric to the unit sphere S ²ⁿ⁺¹ (1) are equivalent. Finally, we prove that a compact φ-projectively flat K-contact manifold with regular contact vector field is a principal S ¹-bundle over an almost Kaehler space of constant holomorphic sectional curvature 4.     

The first eigenvalue of the Dirac operator on Kähler manifolds

If M^2m is a closed Kähler spin manifold of positive scalar curvature R, then each eigenvalue λ of type r (r {1, …, [(m + 1)/2]}) of the Dirac operator D satisfies the inequality λ² ≥ rR₀/4r − 2, where R₀ is the minimum of R on M^2m. Hence, if the complex dimension m is odd (even) we have the estimation

for the first eigenvalue of D. In the paper is also considered the limiting case of the given inequalities. In the limiting case with m = 2r − 1 the manifold M^2m must be Einstein. The manifolds S², S² × S², S² × T², P³( ), F( ), P³( ) × T² and F( ³) × T², where F( ³) denotes the flag manifold and T² the 2-dimensional flat torus, are examples for which the first eigenvalue of the Dirac operator realizes the limiting case of the corresponding inequality. In general, if M^2m is an example of odd complex dimension m, then M^2m × T² is an example of even complex dimension m + 1. The limiting case is characterized by the fact that here appear eigenspinors of D² which are Kählerian twistor-spinors.
