Deformation and failure mechanism in quench-hardened AISI 4340 steel under ballistic impact is investigated. The influence of microstructure on damage evolution is also evaluated. Strain localization and shear failure along adiabatic shear bands are the dominant deformation and failure mechanisms. The time and critical strain for the commencement of strain localization is influenced by strain rate and microstructure. The microstructure of the steel sample also influenced the type of adiabatic shear bands formed during impact. Failure mechanism involves nucleation of micro-voids, which clusters to form bigger pores. Extremely fine micro-cracks are initiated adjacent to the pores and in shear flow direction along the shear bands. These micro-cracks become interconnected and grow to macro-cracks, which cause fracture of some of the investigated cylindrical steel samples under impact. The susceptibility of the adiabatic shear bands to cracking increases with decreasing tempering temperature of the steel. 相似文献

为得出含瓦斯煤体的冲击力学特性,采用类单轴压缩试验方法,对吸附瓦斯压力在0 MPa, 2 MPa, 4 MPa, 6 MPa等情况下的煤样力学特性进行了研究。研究得出:随着吸附瓦斯压力的增大,煤样的抗压强度、弹性模量、冲击能指数均近似线性降低,峰值应变近似线性增大。随着吸附瓦斯压力的增大,煤体的破坏类型由脆性向延性破坏转变,破坏的分选性增强。吸附瓦斯的作用加速了煤体失稳破坏的进程,并使煤岩瓦斯动力灾害类型呈现由冲击地压主导型向煤与瓦斯突出主导型转变的趋势。 相似文献

An analytical moment-based method for calculating structural first failure times under non-Gaussian stochastic behavior is proposed.In the method,a power series that constants can be obtained from response moments (skewness,kurtosis,etc.) is used firstly to map a non-Gaussian structural response into a standard Gaussian process,then mean up-crossing rates,mean clump size and the initial passage probability of a critical barrier level by the original structural response are estimated,and finally,the formula for calculating first failure times is established on the assumption that corrected up-crossing rates are independent.An analysis of a nonlinear single-degree-of-freedom dynamical system excited by a Gaussian model of load not only demonstrates the usage of the proposed method but also shows the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method by comparisons between the present method and other methods such as Monte Carlo simulation and the traditional Ganssian model. 相似文献

FEA calculations have been carried out for a model rubber shear spring, consisting of a block of a highly elastic material, bonded between two rigid parallel plates and sheared by displacing one of the plates parallel to the other in its own plane. The block was prevented from deforming in the perpendicular direction, and thus was deformed in plane strain. Stress distributions along the bond-line and the center-line are reported and compared with those expected from the theory of large elastic deformations. Unexpected tensile stresses were found to develop in the interior of the sheared block. They are attributed to the absence on the end surfaces of the stresses needed to maintain a simple shear, causing a pronounced change in the reference pressure—a consequence that is usually overlooked. Because the internal stresses are governed by the boundary conditions, they were strongly affected by the shape of the end surfaces. In addition, they were reduced markedly by assigning values to Poisson's ratio slightly lower than 0.5, thus allowing some volume expansion of the rubber. Strain energy release rates were also evaluated for growth of a crack along the bond-line, starting at the edges, and compared with those reported previously by Lindley and Teo [Energy for crack growth at the bonds of rubber springs, Plast. Rubber Mat. Appl. 4 (1979) 29-37], Muhr et al. [A fracture mechanics study of natural rubber-to-metal bond failure, J. Adhes. Sci. Technol. 10 (1996) 593-616], Gregory and Muhr [Stiffness and fracture analysis of bonded rubber blocks in simple shear, in: D. Boast, V.A. The aim of this study was to explore the protective effects of Trichosanthes kirilowii ethanol extract (TKE) against cisplatin-induced acute renal failure (ARF). In the in vitro study, TKE-pretreated porcine kidney cells (PK15) exhibited enhanced cell viability after cisplatin (15 μg mL? 1) treatment in both MTT and crystal violet assays. PK15 cells pretreated with TKE (50 μg mL? 1) exhibited increased glutathione content, decreased reactive oxygen species production and ameliorated p53 expression. In vivo study, rats were administered with TKE for 4 weeks before cisplatin (5 mg kg? 1) injection. TKE (100 mg kg? 1) decreased blood urea nitrogen and creatinine levels by 24% and 47%, respectively, in comparison with cisplatin-alone group. In addition, TKE pretreatment ameliorated cisplatin-induced oxidative stress, as evidenced by increased antioxidative enzyme levels and decreased lipid peroxidation levels. Moreover, TKE pretreatment reduced histopathological alterations in the kidney with decreased apoptotic cells. Taken together, TKE might be beneficial in treating cisplatin-induced ARF. 相似文献

A cured model is a useful approach for analysing failure
time data in which some subjects could eventually experience and others never
experience the event of interest. All subjects in the test belong to one of the
two groups: the susceptible group and the non-susceptible group. There has been
considerable progress in the development of semi-parametric models for regression
analysis of time-to-event data. However, most of the current work focuses on
right-censored data, especially when the population contains a non-ignorable
cured subgroup. In this paper, we propose a semi-parametric cure model for current
status data. In general, treatments are developed to both increase the patients'
chances of being cured and prolong the survival time among non-cured patients. A
logistic regression model is proposed for whether the subject is in the susceptible
group. An accelerated failure time regression model is proposed for the event
time when the subject is in the non-susceptible group. An EM algorithm is used
to maximize the log-likelihood of the observed data. Simulation results show that
the proposed method can get efficient estimations. 相似文献
