Hyers–Ulam stability of linear differential operator with constant coefficients

Let P(z) be a polynomial of degree n with complex coefficients and consider the n–th order linear differential operator P(D). We show that the equation P(D)f = 0 has the Hyers–Ulam stability, if and only if the equation P(z) = 0 has no pure imaginary solution. (© 2003 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)     

A Nonconforming Arbitrary Quadrilateral Finite Element Method for Approximating Maxwell's Equations

The main aim of this paper is to provide convergence analysis of Quasi-Wilson nonconforming finite element to Maxwell's equations under arbitrary quadrilateral meshes.The error estimates are derived,which are the same as those for conforming elements under conventional regular meshes.     

Controllability of Functional Integro-Differential Inclusions with an Unbounded Delay

In this paper, a sufficient condition is established for the controllability of neutral functional integro-differential inclusions with an unbounded delay in Banach spaces. The approach used is a fixed-point theorem for condensing maps due to Martelli and the theory of analytic semigroup of linear operators. Communicated by F. Asymptotic behavior of solutions for a class of predator-prey reaction-diffusion systems with time delays

The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of solutions for a class of three-species predator-prey reaction-diffusion systems with time delays under homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. Some simple and easily verifiable conditions are given to the rate constants of the reaction functions to ensure the convergence of the time-dependent solution to a constant steady-state solution. The conditions for the convergence are independent of diffusion coefficients and time delays, and the conclusions are directly applicable to the corresponding parabolic-ordinary differential system and to the corresponding system without time delays.     

Discrete duality finite volume schemes for Leray−Lions−type elliptic problems on general 2D meshes

Discrete duality finite volume schemes on general meshes, introduced by Hermeline and Domelevo and Omnès for the Laplace equation, are proposed for nonlinear diffusion problems in 2D with nonhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. This approach allows the discretization of non linear fluxes in such a way that the discrete operator inherits the key properties of the continuous one. Furthermore, it is well adapted to very general meshes including the case of nonconformal locally refined meshes. We show that the approximate solution exists and is unique, which is not obvious since the scheme is nonlinear. We prove that, for general W^?1,p′(Ω) source term and W^1‐(1/p),p(?Ω) boundary data, the approximate solution and its discrete gradient converge strongly towards the exact solution and its gradient, respectively, in appropriate Lebesgue spaces. Finally, error estimates are given in the case where the solution is assumed to be in W^2,p(Ω). Numerical examples are given, including those on locally refined meshes. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 脉冲时滞抛物型偏微分方程组解的振动性

研究一类脉冲时滞抛物型偏微分方程组解的振动性,利用一阶脉冲时滞微分不等式获得了该类方程组在两类不同边值条件下所有解振动的若干充分条件.所得结果充分反映了脉冲和时滞在振动中的影响作用.     

OSCILLATION FOR NONAUTONOMOUS NEUTRAL DYNAMIC DELAY EQUATIONS ON TIME SCALES

The article is concerned with oscillation of nonautonomous neutral dynamic delay equations on time scales. Sufficient conditions are established for the existence of bounded positive solutions and for oscillation of all solutions of this equation. Some results extend known results for difference equations when the time scale is the set Z of positive integers and for differential equations when the time scale is the set R of real numbers.     

An approximate solution to the integral radiative transfer equation in an optically thick slab

We consider the problem of solving the integral form of the radiative transfer equation in an atmosphere with optical thickness τ₀?1. We propose two methods transforming this problem to a finite set of the independent problems of the same type set in an atmosphere with optical thickness much less then τ₀. STABILITY AND BOUNDEDNESS OF SOLUTIONS OF VOLTERRA INTEGRAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH INFINITE DELAY

This paper studies the stability and boundedness of the solutions of Volterra integral differential equations with infinite delay in the phase space (Ch, |·|h), the h-uniform stability, h-uniformly asymptotic stability and h-boundedness of solutions are obtained.
