UsingGleason's theorem the pars orbital concept is developed for excited states of conjugated systems described by CI-methods. A significance index is introduced to evaluate different patterns of fragmentation. The usefulness of this approach is illustrated for butadiene, biphenyl, naphthalene, and azulene.

Measurements of density(ρ), viscosity(η), and refractive index(n), were carried out on α-amino acids, DL-solution at 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15 K. These measurements have been carried out to evaluate some important parameters, viz., apparent molar volume (φv), partial molar volume (φv0), transfer volume (φ0v (tr)), viscosity A and B coefficients of Jones-Dole equation, free energies of activation per mole of solvent (△μ0#1) and solute (△μ0#2),enthalpies (△H*) and entropies (△S*) of activation of viscous flow, variation of B with temperature ((a)B/(a)T)P, and molar refractive index (RD). These parameters have been interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions and structure making/breaking ability of solutes in the given solution.     

苯乙烯-异戊二烯两嵌段共聚物溶液的dn/dc和紫外吸收光谱

本文研究了苯乙烯-异戊二烯两嵌段共聚物在CHCl_3中的折光指数浓度增量(dn/dc)和紫外吸收光谱。嵌段共聚物dn/dc具有很好的加和性,可以测定嵌段共聚物的组成。紫外吸收光谱的结果表明,除低苯乙烯含量的样品外,其它嵌段共聚物都显示明显的紫外增色性(UV hyperchromism)。因此UV和UV-RI双检测GPC不会得到可靠的嵌段共聚物组成数据。这种增色现象与其特征的紫外吸收谱图紧密关联     

Structure-activity study of antiepilepticN-aryl-isoxazolecarboxamides/N-isoxazolylbenzamide analogs using Wiener's topological index

The relationship between Wiener's topological index and the antiepileptic activity of a series ofN-aryl-isoxazole carboxamides/N-isoxazolylbenzamide analogs has been investigated. Values of Wiener's topological index for 69 compounds constituting the training set were computed and an active range was identified. Each analog was subsequently assigned an activity which was then compared with the reported antiepileptic activity against the maximal electroshock seizure (MES) test. Due to significant correlation between antiepileptic activity and Wiener's topological index, it was possible to predict antiepileptic activity with an accuracy of 91 % in the active range.

运用Rasch模型探查高二学生对"化学键"概念的认知情况，运用Conquest软件和Winsteps软件对测试结果进行分析。结果表明：基于Rasch模型编制的测试卷能客观有效地检测学生对"化学键"概念的理解，为一线教师的有效教学提供学情基础。     

On the Randić Index of Acyclic Conjugated Molecules

The Randić index of an organic molecule whose molecular graph is G is the sum of the weights (d(u)d(v))^−1/2 of all edges uv of G, where d(u) and d(v) are the degrees of the vertices u and v in G. We give a sharp lower bound on the Randić index of conjugated trees (trees with a perfect matching) in terms of the number of vertices. Information content of data and variables and types of weighting in least-squares regression methods

Algorithms are given for evaluating the relative amount of useful information related to a particular parameter which is carried by individual data points and intervals of the variables. The algorithms provide an efficient means of using the information contained in a set of data. Applications to the optimization of weighting in regression methods are described. Several informational and combined informational-statistical types of weighting are studied as a means of improving the accuracy and precision of the parameters obtained by non-linear regression.     

Advances in two-dimensional GC with glass capillary columns

A versatile two-dimensional gas chromatograph is described, consisting of 2 separate ovens, one intermediate trap, an auxiliary inlet, and the necessary hardware to effect off-line switching according to the principle of Deans. The unit has been designed for use with high resolution glass capillary columns. The performance of individual instrumental components was critically evaluated. Results showed that low dead volume glass to metal connections were required in the manifold and detector lines to minimize extra-column effects. The mass of the intermediate trap must be low to allow rapid heating. Operational parameters are discussed and examples of some applications are shown.     

Extremal k *-Cycle Resonant Hexagonal Chains

Denote by ^* _n the set of all k ^*-cycle resonant hexagonal chains with n hexagons. For any B _n ^* _n , let m(B _n ) and i(B _n ) be the numbers of matchings (=the Hosoya index) and the number of independent sets (=the Merrifield–Simmons index) of B _n , respectively. In this paper, we give a characterization of the k ^*-cycle resonant hexagonal chains, and show that for any B _n ^* _n , m(H _n )m(B _n ) and i(H _n )i(B _n ), where H _n is the helicene chain. Moreover, equalities hold only if B _n =H _n .
