This article explores green synthesis as a strategic and sustainable route to fabricate potent zinc oxide nanoparticles. Natural green based antibacterial agents and alternatives are being introduced in the market however there is a dearth in green approach moringa based zinc oxide nanoparticles in personal care products and establishing efficacy. Moringa oleifera comprises various phytochemicals that act as non-toxic stabilizing and reducing agents. Green synthesized ZnO nanoparticles (GsZnO-Nps) were investigated for their morphological and physicochemical properties using various advanced characterizing techniques. The hexagonal wurtzite structure of GsZnO-Nps is determined by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), the average crystallite size is 13.82 nm, total crystallinity was 95.91 % and high specific-surface-area is 77.38 m2/g. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) revealed the formation of spherical nanoparticles having a diameter of 50 nm. UV–vis spectrum shows high bandgap energy of 3.36 eV. Results have shown that antioxidant efficacy of GsZnO-Nps is significantly higher than AR-Grade ZnO, evaluated by using 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. Half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of GsZnO-Nps was 21.72 µg/mL and AR-Grade ZnO was 345.57 µg/mL. GsZnO-Nps (0.0183 g/mL) shows robust anti-acne efficacy against Cutibacterium acne (C. acne) organism which estimated by ZOI technique, have average ZOI of 33 mm, with standard error 0.577 mm. Antibacterial efficacy of GsZnO-Nps was established at different concentrations (10, 50, 100, and 200 µg/mL) against Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens by zone-of-inhibition (ZOI) method with respect to standard drugs. GsZnO-Nps at 200 µg/mL exhibits high ZOI of 26.75 mm against Escherichia coli (E. coli) and ZOI of 30 mm against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) organisms respectively which is comparatively higher or equal to standard drugs. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of GsZnO-Nps is 500 µg/mL to inhibit the microbe's growth. GsZnO-Nps established the added benefits of moringa phytochemicals and is an excellent approach to developing eco-friendly and multi-functional versatile products having strong antioxidants, anti-acne and advanced antibacterial efficacy for numerous industrial applications like cosmetic, health hygiene products, drugs, therapeutic etc.  相似文献

Objective: To investigate the differences in self-efficacy (SE) for walking tasks between older patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) and older adults without knee OA. Methods: A cross-sectional design was employed. Older patients with radiographic knee OA and community-dwelling older adults without knee OA as controls were enrolled in the study. SE for the walking task was assessed using the modified gait efficacy scale (mGES). A Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used to compare the mGES between the groups of participants. A Tobit regression model was used to estimate the difference in mGES. The presence of radiographic knee OA was used as an independent variable. Sex (women), age, and body mass index were used as potential confounding variables in the model. Results: After exclusion, 78 participants (n=40 with knee OA, n=38 controls) were included. The mGES was lower in patients with knee OA than in controls. In the Tobit regression model adjusted for confounding factors, mGES in patients with knee OA was estimated to be 26.8 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 15.8-37.8) points lower than in controls. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that mGES was lower in older patients with knee OA than in older adults without knee OA.  相似文献

As a prevention tool for mosquito-borne diseases, mosquito repellents have received substantial attention. To make a convincing recommendation for repellent products to Chinese consumers, we compared the protection time (landing time and probing time) of the 26 best-selling commercial repellents in the Chinese market in a controlled laboratory environment. The data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA. Meanwhile, prices and favorable rates of repellents are also taken into consideration. In our study, N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET)-based products provided the longest protection time (0.5–3.88 h landing time and/or 1–5.63 h probing time) and lower prices (13.9–21.9 yuan) than other components (ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate (IR3535), picaridin, and botanical. Among the 26 selected products, only 17 repellents showed repellency, and the best repellent was Green Jungle (15% DEET), with a mean (±SD) landing and/or probing time of 3.88 ± 1.65 h and/or 5.63 ± 0.36 h. For botanicals, only ICE King, OMNIbaby, and Ren He showed a little repellency. Autan (20% picaridin) performed best in the picaridin group. Run Ben (7% IR3535) stood out from the IR3535 group. In conclusion, DEET repellent is highly recommended to consumers. The combination of botanicals and synthesized chemicals is a new prospect for eco-friendly repellents.  相似文献

In recent years, the interest in cannabidiol (CBD) has increased because of the lack of psychoactive properties. However, CBD has low solubility and bioavailability, variable pharmacokinetics profiles, poor stability, and a pronounced presystemic metabolism. CBD nanoformulations include nanosuspensions, polymeric micelles and nanoparticles, hybrid nanoparticles jelled in cross-linked chitosan, and numerous nanosized lipid formulations, including nanostructured lipid carriers, vesicles, SNEEDS, nanoemulsions, and microemulsions. Nanoformulations have resulted in high CBD solubility, encapsulation efficiency, and stability, and sustained CBD release. Some studies assessed the increased Cmax and AUC and decreased Tmax. A rational evaluation of the studies reported in this review evidences how some of them are very preliminary and should be completed before performing clinical trials. Almost all the developed nanoparticles have simple architectures, are well-known and safe nanocarriers, or are even simple nanosuspensions. In addition, the conventional routes of administration are generally investigated. As a consequence, many of these studies are almost ready for forthcoming clinical translations. Some of the developed nanosystems are very promising for a plethora of therapeutic opportunities because of the versatility in terms of the release, the crossing of physiological barriers, and the number of possible routes of administration.  相似文献

为了满足高功率白光发光二极管(Light-Emitting Diode, LED)对荧光体的高性能要求,对白光LED用CexGd∶YAG单晶荧光材料的制备和光学、电学、热学特性进行了研究。采用提拉法生长了CexGd∶YAG(x=0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08)单晶,并借助于X射线衍射(XRD)、吸收光谱、发射光谱等对晶体的光谱特性进行了表征,同时也测试分析了相对荧光强度随温度的变化关系、基于不同Ce3+浓度CexGd∶YAG单晶的白光LED性能参数。结果表明CexGd∶YAG单晶在450 nm的蓝光激发下,产生一个500~650 nm的宽峰发射,在100℃高温下,其荧光光强比商用荧光体粉末高出10%。当Ce3+浓度为6%时,采用CexGd∶YAG单晶荧光片的白光LED光效高达153 lm/W,是Ce∶YAG和树脂荧光材料白光LED的两倍多。CexGd∶YAG单晶荧光片,具有更高更稳定的荧光光强,制作...  相似文献

The occurrence of crop fungal diseases is closely related to warm environmental conditions. In order to control the release of fungicides in response to warm conditions, and enhance the efficacy, a series of thermo-responsive fungicide-loaded nanoparticles were developed. The fungicide azoxystrobin, solvent DEP, emulsifier Tween 80 and thermo-responsive component TDA were combined to create thermal-response oil phases, conditions for emulsification were then optimized. LDLS, zeta potential, FTIR, DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM and antifungal efficacy assays were carried out to investigate the characteristics and forming mechanism. The results indicated that the formula with 5 g azoxystrobin, 10 mL DEP, 6 mL Tween 80 and 2.5 g TDA constructed the proposed oil phase with the ability to transform from solid at 20 °C to softerned at 31.5 °C. Both DEP and TDA played key roles in interfering with the crystallization of azoxystrobin. The optimal T3t-c12 nanoparticles had a mean particle size of 162.1 nm, thermo-responsive morphological transformation between 20 °C and 30 °C, AZO crystal reforming after drying, the ability to attach to fungal spores and satisfied antifungal efficacy against P. nicotiana PNgz07 and A. niger A1513 at 30 °C.
