Synthesis and characterization of soluble polyimides containing trifluoromethyl groups in their backbone

A series of polyimides were synthesized from 2,2‐Bis(3,4‐dicarboxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane, 2,2‐bis(3‐amino‐4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐hexafluoropropane, and 4,4′‐oxydianiline by chemical imidization. The effects of the diamine ratios on the properties of the films were evaluated through the study of their thermal, electrical, and morphological properties. All the polymers exhibited better solubility in most of the organic solvents and hence were easily processable. Polyimides with more 2,2‐bis(3‐amino‐4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐hexafluoropropane exhibited better solubility and a low refractive index, which is highly desired for microelectronic applications. The dielectric constant and birefringence were strongly dependent on the fluorine content. With an increase in the fluorine substitution, both the dielectric constant and birefringence decreased. All the polymers exhibited high thermal stability (>400 °C). The absence of crystalline melting in differential scanning calorimetry and broad wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction patterns revealed the amorphous nature of the polymers, which was due to the presence of bulky CF₃ groups and hinged ether linkages of the diamine component. The residual stress values decreased with an increase in the 4,4′‐oxydianiline content, and the results were in agreement with the dielectric constant. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Yb3+掺杂铝氟磷酸盐玻璃的光谱和激光性能

研究了Yb3 掺杂铝氟磷酸盐 (AFP)玻璃的吸收光谱、荧光光谱 ,测量了Yb3 离子的荧光有效线宽 (Δλeff>5 5nm)以及2 F5 2 能级的荧光寿命 (τmax=2ms)及随掺杂浓度的变化 .应用倒易法计算了Yb3 的发射截面 ,其发射截面可达 0 6 6 82 3pm2 ,且激光增益系数τfσemi达 1 2 89ms.pm2 .评估了Yb3 在AFP玻璃中的激光性能 ,发现其具有较理想的激发态最小粒子数 (0 15 )、饱和抽运强度 (8 3kW cm2 )和最小抽运强度 (1 2 4 5kW cm2 )值及良好的热稳定性 .研究结果表明掺Yb3 氟磷酸盐玻璃是实现高功率超短可调谐激光器的理想增益介质 .     

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PROJECTIVE GEOMETRIC AND RATIONAL QUADRATIC B-SPLINE CURVES

For two rational quadratic B-spline curves with same control vertexes, the cross ratio of four eollinear points are represented; which are any one of the vertexes, and the two points that the ray initialing from the vertex intersects with the corresponding segments of the twocurves, and the point the ray intersecting with the connecting line between the two neighboring vertexes. Different from rational quadratic Beeier curves, the value is generally related with the loeation of the ray, and the necessary and sufficient condition o5 the ratio being independent of the ray‘s loeation is showed. Alsn another cross ratio o5 the following four collinear points are suggested, i.e. one vertex, the points that the ray from the initlal vertex intersects respectivdy with the curve segmentt the line connecting the segments end points, and the line connecting the two neighboring vertexes. This cross ratio is concerned only whh the ray‘s location, butnot with the weights of the curve. Furthermore, the cross ratio is projective invariant under the projective transformation between the two segments.     

The effect of voice lessons on the clinical and perceptual skills of graduate students in speech-language pathology

Two groups of 10 speech-language pathology graduate students were each given 7 weeks of singing lessons to determine whether voice lessons could have an effect on their clinical and perceptual skills. Pre-, mid-, and posttests to measure various skills were designed and implemented. With use of paired sample statistical testing, statistically significant results were obtained. In addition, the subjective responses of the students show that the lessons were effective in improving pitch perception, breath control, and legato production or easy onset. This study supports efforts to integrate curricula in vocal performance and speech-language pathology.     

The Geometric Construction of WZW Effective Action in Noncommutative Manifold

By constructing close-one-cochain density Ω^12n in the gauge group space we get the Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) effective Lagrangian on high-dimensional noncommutative space.Especially consistent anomalies derived from this WZW effective action in noncommutative four-dimensional space coincide with those obtained by L.Bonora etc.(het-th/0002210).     

Shell model interaction between proton holes and between proton holes and neutron particles around 208Pb

An effective residual interaction between particles and holes for shell model calculations around ²⁰⁸Pb, derived from the interaction between free nucleons, is compared with the measured properties of proton-hole neutron states in ²⁰⁸Tl and the interaction between proton holes is adjusted to newly measured level energies in ²⁰⁶Hg. These interaction elements are particularly relevant for neutron-rich nuclei. The adjustment of two mixing elements reproduces the known γ-decay data in ²⁰⁸Tl. Temperature Dependence of InSb Reflectivity in the Far Infrared: Determination of the Electron Effective Mass

We measured the dependence of the reflectivity of InSb crystals upon temperature in the submillimeter region using monochromatic radiation from an optically pumped far infrared (FIR) laser. The measures allowed us to determine the value of the electron effective mass at low temperatures with radiations of different frequencies. Our measurements extend the results obtained recently on pure crystals with magneto-optical methods to the low temperatures region where only old measures were available.     

F／Cl比与Eu~（2＋）：BaFCl中F色心的浓度和光激励截面的关系

研究了Ｅｕ（２＋）：ＢａＦｘＣｌ２在紫外线辐照下的光激励发光。通过改变激励方式及激励光的扫描方向，给出了Ｅｕ（２＋）：ＢａＦｘＣｌ２－ｘ光激励发光过程中，两种Ｆ色心的浓度比值与光激励截面比值的测定方法。利用这种测定方法，进一步研究了两种Ｆ色心的浓度比值和光激励截面比值与Ｆ／ＣＩ比值的关系。     

A refined stress-strain analysis in the load transfer zone of flat specimens of high-strength unidirectional composites in uniaxial tension 1. Theoretical analysis

With the use of an analytical approach developed, the influence of distribution of a tangential load on the stress concentration in uniaxially tensioned flat specimens of high-strength unidirectional composites near the grips of a testing machine is evaluated. In view of singularity of the analytical solution derived at the points of discontinuity of boundary conditions, for estimating the stress concentration, it is suggested to employ the averaged value of longitudinal stresses, which is calculated by means of an improper integral across the thickness of a near-surface layer. __________ Translated from Mekhanika Kompozitnykh Materialov, Vol. 42, No. 6, pp. 787–796, November–December, 2006.     

Propagation of mesons in asymmetric nuclear matter in a density-dependent coupling model

We study the propagation of the light mesons σ,ω,ρ, and a₀(980) in dense hadronic matter in an extended derivative scalar coupling model. Within the scheme proposed it is possible to unambiguously define effective density-dependent couplings at the Lagrangian level. We first apply the model to study asymmetric nuclear matter with fixed isospin asymmetry, and then we pay particular attention to hypermatter in β-equilibrium. The equation of state and the potential contribution to the symmetry coefficient arising from the mean-field approximation are investigated. Received: 16 October 2001 / Accepted: 10 January 2002
