The validity of accelerated aging tests to predict and rank papers on their permanence has been under question, preventing the development of performance-based standards for permanent paper. We conducted a general kinetic analysis to investigate the aging process of paper. A general kinetic model is proposed to describe the depolymerization of cellulose. Experimentally it was shown that in the case of aging, cellulose degradation follows classic first-order kinetics as a special case of our general kinetic model. The Arrhenius equation was critically re-examined for the case of a multiple reaction system. It was shown analytically that the Arrhenius equation is still applicable when certain conditions are met. This was convincingly supported by experimental results. We also analysed the dependence of the degradation rate on the moisture content and hydrogen ion concentration. By conducting systematic experiments on these two factors, a general and quantitative relationship was established to explain the contribution of each factor and their interactions. Finally, based on this kinetic analysis, the effects of storage conditions on the life expectancy of paper were estimated.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Structure and physical properties of 25CaO–xPbO–(75–x)P2O5 (0≤x≤35) glasses are investigated in this paper. Substitution of PbO for P2O5 in the binary 25CaO–75P2O5 glass was found to increase the density and to decrease the molar volume. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopies show the evolution of the phosphate skeleton when the PbO content increases: Q3 to Q2 species (0<x≤25) and Q2 phosphate network (x = 25) to short phosphate groups (x > 25) such as (P4O136?) (x = 35). The glass transition temperature first decreases with x, then increases for x values larger than 10%. The evolution of the glass transition temperatures is interpreted from the structural data: the minimum point observed in Tg is attributed to the transition of the ultraphosphate network from the network containing the modifying cations at isolated sites to a network with modifier sub-structure sharing terminal oxygens. At higher PbO content, the large increase in Tg is due to the reticulation of the phosphate network by PbO4 groups.  相似文献

Mesoporous YSZ–γ-Al2O3 membranes were coated on α-Al2O3 (Ø2 mm) tube by dipping the α-Al2O3 support tube into mixed sol consists of nano-size YSZ and bohemite particles followed by drying and calcination at 600 °C. Addition of bohemite in YSZ sol helped a good adhesion and uniform coating of the membrane film onto α-Al2O3 support. The quality of the mesoporous YSZ–γ-Al2O3 membranes was evaluated by the gas permeability experiments. The number of defects was minimized when the γ-Al2O3 content became more than 40%. Addition of γ-Al2O3 inhibited the crystal growth of YSZ, sintering shrinkage and distortion stress. Increase of calcination temperature and time results in the increase of pore size and N2 permeance. A hydrogen perm-selective membrane was prepared by filling palladium into the nano-pores of YSZ–γ-Al2O3 layer by vacuum-assisted electroless plating. Crystal growth of palladium was observed by thermal annealing of the membrane at 600 °C for 40 h. The Pd–YSZ–γ-Al2O3 composite membrane revealed improved thermal stability allowing long-term operation at elevated temperature (>500 °C). This has been attributed to the improved fracture toughness of YSZ–γ-Al2O3 layer and matching of thermal expansion coefficient between palladium and YSZ. Although fracture of the membrane did not occur, decline of H2 flux was observed when the membrane was exposed in 600 °C. This has been attributed to the agglomeration of palladium particles by crystal growth and dense packing into the pore networks of YSZ–γ-Al2O3 by elevation of temperature.  相似文献

At present, little information is available in the scientific literature related to the durability (weathering resistance) of fire-retarded wood and natural fiber-reinforced thermoplastics. In this work, thermoplastic profiles for façade applications based on high-density polyethylene, wheat straw particles, and fire-retardants were extruded and their reaction-to-fire performance before and after artificial weathering evaluated. Profile geometries were either solid or hollow-core profiles, and fire-retardants (FR) were added either in the co-extruded layer or in the bulk. Various FR for inclusion in the co-extruded layer were screened based on UL-94 tests. For profile extrusion, two types of FR were chosen: a coated intumescent combination based on ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and an APP coated with melamine and without formaldehyde. Before weathering, the peak heat release rate (pHRR) and the total heat release (THR), which were determined using cone calorimeter measurements, were reduced by up to 64% and 67% due to the FR. However, even before weathering, pHRR of the profiles was relatively high, with best (lowest) values between 230 and 250 kW/m2 under the test conditions. After 28 days of artificial weathering, changes in reaction-to-fire performance and color were evaluated. Use of the APP in the co-extruded layer worsened color change compared to the formulation without APP but the pHRR was not significantly changed. The influence of weathering on the fire behavior was small compared to the difference between fire-retarded and non-fire-retarded materials. Results from the cone calorimeter were analyzed with regard to ETAG 028, which provides requirements related to the durability of fire performance of building products. In many formulations, increase in THR was less than 20% compared to before weathering, which would place some of the profiles in class C or better (EN 13501-1). However, due to the high pHRR, at best, class D was obtained under the conditions of this study. In addition to cone calorimeter measurements, results from the single flame source test, limiting oxygen index determination and thermogravimetric analysis, are shown and discussed. Strength properties, water uptake and swelling of the profiles, thermal conductivity, and energy dispersive X-ray data are also presented.  相似文献

以Na+型和H+型ZSM-5为载体制备了Fe-ZSM-5催化剂并用于氨选择性催化还原(NH3-SCR)氮氧化物. Fe-H-ZSM-5在新鲜时和750 oC含10%水的空气中老化后,其SCR活性均优于Fe-Na-ZSM-5.表征结果显示, Fe-H-ZSM-5和Fe-Na-ZSM-5的Fe物种分布和酸性位有所不同.高温水热老化后Fe-H-ZSM-5分子筛骨架的脱铝较Fe-Na-ZSM-5严重.水和硫的存在对Fe-H-ZSM-5和Fe-Na-ZSM-5的SCR活性的影响相似,即降低了低温活性,略提高了高温活性. Fe-Na-ZSM-5表现出比Fe-H-ZSM-5更好的抗碳氢中毒性能.这两种催化剂的SO2和碳氢中毒是可逆的.  相似文献

采用改进的Hummers法氧化石墨后,对其超声剥离成氧化石墨烯水溶液,继之通过乙二醇还原Pd金属离子和氧化石墨烯,得到了还原态氧化石墨烯(RGO)负载Pd纳米催化剂,并用于甲酸的电催化氧化.透射电子显微镜和X射线衍射结果显示:负载于RGO上的Pd粒子平均粒径为3.8nm,其优先在RGO的褶皱和边缘处生长.电化学测试表明:RGO上残存的含氧基团降低了Pd催化剂受CO毒化的程度,Pd/RGO催化剂表现出了较商业化Pd/C更高的电催化活性和更好的稳定性.  相似文献

This paper reports perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) circumstances and the results based on the reference published by NEC. The PMR flexible disks using Co-Cr-Ta films were investigated. Pass wear durability of Co-Cr-Ta film strongly depends on the base film surface roughness and Young's modulus values of Co-Cr-Ta films. Pass wear durability, more than 10 million passes, was confirmed under a high temperature (60 °C) and a high humidity (80% RH) condition, as well as a low temperature (5 °C) condition. The read/write characteristics for double-layered PMR media were examined by using a combination of a single-pole-type (SPT) write head and a magnetoresistive (MR) read head, and a conventional merged ring type inductive (ID) write head/MR read head. By differential equalization of the reproduced voltage, the bit error rate less than 10−6 at 3 Gb/in.2 was obtained for the SPT/MR head combination. The antenna effect for PMR realization was analyzed using the merged ring type ID/MR head. In order to increase the magnetic circuit resistance from the ID head pole to the soft underlayer, we developed the sendust (FeAlSi) soft underlayer with low magnetic permeability. We confirmed that the recorded signal has better stability under the ID/MR head-loaded condition than the SPT head-loaded condition. These results show that there are the head and media solutions to realize PMR. We had confidence that we could use the basic structure of the commercial ID/MR head for the PMR head.  相似文献

力学性能优异的碳纤维增强复合材料(CFRP)在桥梁工程中具有广泛的应用前景,然而CFRP 材料及其与桥梁结构组合体系的耐久性还有待研究。笔者对近年来对 CFRP 材料、CFRP材料加固混凝土梁(柱)、CFRP筋-混凝土主梁的耐久性及劣化机理等问题的研究成果进行系统的归纳和总结。指出:桥梁用CFRP材料多因素耦合环境加速腐蚀试验方法、CFRP材料应用于桥梁工程的防腐措施、CFRP材料与结构的组合界面力学行为随环境变化的规律、含CFRP材料的桥梁结构耐久性年限理论预测模型以及 CFRP 拉索和预应力筋的锚固体系耐久性等有待进一步研究。  相似文献

通过两步还原法制备了Pd/Ni双金属催化剂.由于金属Pd原子在先行还原的Ni纳米粒子表面的外延生长以及其在Ni表面及Pd表面生长表现出的吉布斯自由能差异,最终导致了异结构Pd/Ni纳米粒子的形成.高分辨电子透射显微镜结果证实了异结构的存在,然而X射线衍射测量表明Pd/Ni纳米粒子具有类似于Pd的面心立方结构.制备的Pd/Ni纳米粒子与同等条件下合成的Pd纳米粒子相比对甲酸氧化呈现了更高的电催化活性,而且电催化稳定性也要明显优于纯Pd纳米粒子,证明Pd/Ni双金属催化剂是可选的直接甲酸燃料电池阳极催化剂.双金属催化剂对甲酸氧化电催化活性和稳定性增强可能是Ni原子的修饰改变了Pd粒子表面配位不饱和原子的电子结构所致.  相似文献

采用高碘酸钠对棉织物表面进行选择性氧化生成醛基,选取乙二胺与醛基反应,通过膦氢化加成反应将阻燃剂亚磷酸二甲酯接枝到棉织物表面,最后通过三羟甲基三聚氰胺对棉织物表面进行接枝改性,制备了含三羟甲基三聚氰胺/乙二胺/亚磷酸二甲酯阻燃棉织物.通过傅里叶红外光谱(FTIR)对改性后棉织物的结构进行了表征,通过极限氧指数(LOI)测试研究了其阻燃性能,通过锥形量热测试研究了其燃烧行为,通过在40℃皂水中洗涤10次考察了其耐水性能,通过扫描电子显微镜测试了其表面及燃烧后炭层的形貌.研究结果表明,经表面改性后,棉织物的LOI值由(19.5±1.0)%提高到了(43.1±1.0)%,经耐水洗测试后,LOI值仅下降至(42.6±1.0)%,保持了非常好的阻燃性能,表明通过表面接枝方法制备的三羟甲基三聚氰胺/乙二胺/亚磷酸二甲酯阻燃棉织物具有非常好的耐水洗性能.表面阻燃改性提高了棉织物在燃烧过程中的成炭性能,形成的连续膨胀的炭层较好地保护了内部织物,抑制了织物的降解和燃烧,从而提高了棉织物的阻燃性能.  相似文献
