Electron probe microanalysis of SiO2-coated minerals: Subsurface phases in quartz

Crystal fragments of biotite, garnet, and spinel were mounted together in one block which afterwards was sawn into several pieces; each piece was coated with SiO₂ of varying thickness, up to 7.9m. Electron probe microanalysis was carried out at various accelerating voltages of the major elements present, using the non-SiO₂-coated minerals as reference standard.Calibration curves, depth below the surface versus ratios of X-ray yields, have been established with the ultimate goal to use them for a (semi)-quantification of elements present in subsurface phases in quartz, a common host mineral in rocks.     

On the Existence of Solutions of Quasivariational Inclusion Problems

Quasivariational inclusion problems are formulated and sufficient conditions on the existence of solutions are shown. As special cases, we obtain several results on the existence of solutions of general vector ideal, proper, Pareto, weak quasioptimization problems, quasivariational inequalities, and vector quasiequilibrium problems. Further, we prove theorems on the existence for solutions of systems of these inclusions. As a corollary, we obtain an ideal minimax theorem concerning vector functions.     

On Fučik Spectra and Periodic Solutions

In this paper, we continue extending the theory of boundary-value problems to ordinary differential equations and inclusions with discontinuous right-hand side. To this end, we construct a new version of the method of shifts along trajectories. We compare the results obtained by the new approach and those obtained by the method of Fuik spectra.     

On nonoscillatory solutions of differential inclusions

This paper introduces a nonoscillatory theory for differential inclusions based on fixed point theory for multivalued maps.

     

Stochastic Invariance for Differential Inclusions

The aim of this paper is to combine two ways for representing uncertainty through stochastic differential inclusions: a 'stochastic uncertainty", driven by a Wiener process, and a 'contingent uncertainty", driven by a set-valued map. The paper is also devoted to the invariance of closed under stochastic differential inclusions with a Lipschitz right-hand side, characterized in terms of stochastic tangent sets to closed subsets.     

Existence Theorems of Quasivariational Inclusion Problems with Applications to Bilevel Problems and Mathematical Programs with Equilibrium Constraint

In this paper, we establish existence theorems of quasivariational inclusion problems; from them, we establish existence theorems of mathematical programs with quasivariational inclusion constraint, bilevel problems, mathematical programs with equilibrium constraint and semi-infinite problems. This research was supported by the National Science Council of the Republic of China. The authors express their gradtitude to the referees for valuable suggestions.     

Well-posedness results for a model of damage in thermoviscoelastic materials

This paper deals with a phase transitions model describing the evolution of damage in thermoviscoelastic materials. The resulting system is highly non-linear, mainly due to the presence of quadratic dissipative terms and non-smooth constraints on the variables. Existence and uniqueness of a solution are proved, as well as regularity results, on a suitable finite time interval.

Convergence of solutions of kinetic variational inequalities in the rate-independent quasi-static limit

This paper discusses the convergence of kinetic variational inequalities to rate-independent quasi-static variational inequalities. Mathematical formulations as well as existence and uniqueness results for kinetic and rate-independent quasi-static problems are provided. Sharp a priori estimates for the kinetic problem are derived that imply that the kinetic solutions converge to the rate-independent ones, when the size of initial perturbations and the rate of application of the forces tend to 0. An application to three-dimensional elastic-plastic systems with hardening is given.     

线性中立型单延迟系统李代数稳定性判据

研究了线性中立型单延迟微分系统的稳定性.从矩阵李代数可解性角度,推导出新的简单的延迟独立稳定性判据.该新判据的重要意义和优越性在于首次突破了以往大多数相关文献的稳定性判据在应用上受条件‖C‖<1,ρ(|C|)<1或ρ(|N|)<1的限制,从而首次成功确定了在‖C‖≥,ρ(|C|)≥1和ρ(|N|)≥1的情形下中立型延迟微分系统渐近稳定性.最后,通过两个例子显示了新判据的优越性.
