We prove that the class of Gorenstein injective modules is both enveloping and covering over a two sided noetherian ring such that the character modules of Gorenstein injective modules are Gorenstein flat. In the second part of the paper we consider the connection between the Gorenstein injective modules and the strongly cotorsion modules. We prove that when the ring R is commutative noetherian of finite Krull dimension, the class of Gorenstein injective modules coincides with that of strongly cotorsion modules if and only if the ring R is in fact Gorenstein.  相似文献

Using the reaction‐relevant two‐dimensional potential energy surface, an accurate reaction‐pathway mapping and ab inito molecular dynamics, it is shown that CO2 capture by P(tBu)3 and B(C6F5)3 species has many nearly degenerate reaction‐routes to take. The explanation of that is in the topography of the transition state (saddle) area. An ensemble of asynchronous reaction‐routes of CO2 binding is described in fine detail. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The joint spectral theory of a system of pairwise commuting self-adjoint left-invariant differential operators L1,…,Ln on a connected Lie group G is studied, under the hypothesis that the algebra generated by them contains a “weighted subcoercive operator” of ter Elst and Robinson (1998) [52]. The joint spectrum of L1,…,Ln in every unitary representation of G is characterized as the set of the eigenvalues corresponding to a particular class of (generalized) joint eigenfunctions of positive type of L1,…,Ln. Connections with the theory of Gelfand pairs are established in the case L1,…,Ln generate the algebra of K-invariant left-invariant differential operators on G for some compact subgroup K of Aut(G).  相似文献

We study a family of stationary increment Gaussian processes, indexed by time. These processes are determined by certain measures σ (generalized spectral measures), and our focus here is on the case when the measure σ is a singular measure. We characterize the processes arising from σ when σ is in one of the classes of affine selfsimilar measures. Our analysis makes use of Kondratiev white noise spaces. With the use of a priori estimates and the Wick calculus, we extend and sharpen (see Theorem 7.1) earlier computations of Ito stochastic integration developed for the special case of stationary increment processes having absolutely continuous measures. We introduce a family of reductions for removing proper and homogeneous pairs of cliques from a graph G. This family generalizes some routines presented in the literature, mostly in the context of claw-free graphs. These reductions can be embedded in a simple algorithm that in at most |E(G)| steps builds a new graph G without proper and homogeneous pairs of cliques, and such that G and G agree on the value of some relevant invariant (or property).  相似文献

We extend the Rayleigh-Ritz method to the eigen-problem of periodic matrix pairs. Assuming that the deviations of the desired periodic eigenvectors from the corresponding periodic subspaces tend to zero, we show that there exist periodic Ritz values that converge to the desired periodic eigenvalues unconditionally, yet the periodic Ritz vectors may fail to converge. To overcome this potential problem, we minimize residuals formed with periodic Ritz values to produce the refined periodic Ritz vectors, which converge under the same assumption. These results generalize the corresponding well-known ones for Rayleigh-Ritz approximations and their refinement for non-periodic eigen-problems. In addition, we consider a periodic Arnoldi process which is particularly efficient when coupled with the Rayleigh-Ritz method with refinement. The numerical results illustrate that the refinement procedure produces excellent approximations to the original periodic eigenvectors.  相似文献

In [R. Craigen, C. Koukouvinos, A theory of ternary complementary pairs, J. Combin. Theory Ser. A 96 (2001) 358-375], we proposed a systematic approach to the theory of ternary complementary pairs (TCPs) and showed how all pairs known then could be constructed using a single elementary product, the natural equivalence relations, and a handful of pairs which we called primitive. We also introduced more new primitive pairs than could be inferred previously, concluding with some conjectures reflecting the patterns that were beginning to arise in light of the new approach.In this paper we take what appears to be the natural next step, by investigating these patterns among those lengths and weights that are within easy computational distance from the last length considered therein, length 14. We give complete results up to length 21, and partial results up to length 28. (Ironically, although we proceed analytically by weight first then length, for computational reasons we are bound, in this empirical investigation, to proceed according to length first.)Thus we provide support for the previous conjectures, and shed enough new light to speculate further as to the likely ultimate shape of the theory. Since short term work on TCPs will require massive acquisition of data about small pairs, we also discuss affixes—a computational strategy that arose out of the investigations culminating in this article.  相似文献
